Never judge by the size, the Eleaf iCare Mini has a lot of arguments to sell: consistency, performance, quality, and portability. It is a tiny but very capable device. It offers impressive features, which you would never think possible for such a pocket format. Take a closer look at what the iCare Mini has to offer!

The Eleaf iCare Mini size: an unexpected experience

What a surprise when we first discovered the Eleaf iCare: it is so tiny! With its unusual dimensions (30mm x 14mm x 75mm), this is one of the smallest vape pens available currently. We even managed to slip it into the coin pocket of our jeans. It is very light and brings it to a superior level of discreteness.

Tiny size also means lightweight. The device is barely noticeable even when the tank is full, even if the 1.8ml capacity is not significant, but still worth mentioning.

Cool design, nice feel

We like the overall look; it is nice without going the extra mile. It looks clean, nice and simple. The Eleaf iCare feels very nice in hand, and the exterior is smooth with softly rounded edges and a fully removable top cap. The device has two airflow holes in the top cap if you remove it, it reveals the air pipe and rubber that helps keep the top cap in place.

Eleaf iCare Review: Mini size, Strong Performance

Eleaf iCare Mini Performance Review

What we find amazing is that the device features no buttons to press. So basically, you just need to take a draw, and the device automatically starts producing vapor.

Talking about the flavor, it was not the very best we tasted, but looking at the device size, the vapor that comes out of it was surprisingly good. The vapor quantity was also more than decent, given the pocket size and the small coil head.

We also liked the battery life. The 650mAh still offered us long quality vaping moments. It has been really enjoyable.

Changing the iCare coils

It was easy and quick to change the coils,, and we did it in no time. Remove the top cap then unscrew the metal-air pipe before screwing one of the coils to the opposite end. Before replacing, fill the tank all the way to the marker visible on the window (outside of the iCare). So once filled in, screw the air pipe with the connected coil back in. Nice and easy.

Charging the Battery

It took us around a couple of hours to have a fully charged battery. Moreover, charging was as easy as plugging the provided USB cable to the micro USB charging port, on the base of the device, to a laptop or a USB power source.

Cleaning the Mini

After opening the device, the best way for us to wash the tank was using a syringe with warm water into it, avoiding to get any water into the air pressure sensor port or just inside the device itself. If you feel like going the extra mile as we did, you can use small brushes to clean more thoroughly.

The Clash: Von Erl vs. iCare Mini

We took a look at the Von Erl vaporizer, a 4-inch long unit, which can also be categorized as a pocket device. The 350mAh battery is half smaller than the iCare Mini; however, it guarantees a great 3-4 hours of vape time. The Von Erl 1.6ml liquids capacity comes slightly smaller than the iCare Mini 1.8ml capacity; however, the Von Erl is able to produce a slightly better vapor quality.

Overall, the devices are pretty similar there are only slight differences between both. But one main feature is unique to the Von Erl: the non-refillable 1.6ml flavors pods. When it comes to refilling, they offer different flavors (Tobacco, menthol, etc.), and mainly freedom and flexibility as you simply need to remove the pod once empty and replace it with a new one.

Pros&Cons

Pros

  • Battery life
  • Pocket size and lightweight
  • Style and design
  • Extremely easy to use
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Flavor and vapor volume exceed expectation but don’t reach a huge quality level

Our Final Review Verdict

The Eleaf iCare will honestly not blow you away regarding vapor and taste. However, we are overall happy with our trial, and ‘surprised’ is the best word to describe our experience.

We were surprised by the vapor quality and the quantity such a tiny device could produce. We did not expect such a pleasant experience, and the device should be a perfect fit for new starters, or anyone looking for a pocket (tiny) size device that performs more than decently, or a backup vaporizer that does the job.
