What mainly sets the Kylin M apart from the popular Kylin is that it is mesh-based. Another difference is its trapezoidal airflow that looks like honeycomb holes which is located at the RTA’s top. The Kylin M comes with two coil options, a 0.2ohm one that vapes at 40 to 60 watts and a 0.15ohm one that vapes at 50 to 70 watts. The Kylin M’s fill ports are quite deep, and the tank has a 3mL e-liquid capacity when using the straight glass and a 4.5mL e-liquid capacity when using the bubble glass. Featuring a spring-mounted, ceramic design, the deck is pretty forthright. Its wicking channels, although a bit shallow, are wide enough to fit quite a lot of cotton. The wicking ports, on the other hand, are shaped like an oval and are big enough for good wicking.

The top glass section is removable, so the Fancier can also function as a regular RDA, as well as a squonk, as the kit includes a BF 510 pin. The Fancier uses a bottom-airflow setup, with two vents on either side that use a stopper.

The Velocity-post build deck is gold-plated and users can secure their leads via the two side-screws on either side. Inside the build deck, two large air-vents provide the airflow to pass directly onto the coil build.

The 24K gold-plated build deck of the Kylin V2 is a drop-down style, so there are no posts. The deck is U-shaped, so vapers insert their leads into the wide, quad-slots.

However, the Bravo comes with a bubble expander that can turn this 4.5 mL to a whopping 6 mL! Imagine how little users need to refill, and how juicy and enticing this 6 mL tank looks when filled and ready for vaporization. It comes in 6 colors: blue, black, rainbow, gold, silver, and gunmetal. It has a 510 drip tip adapter.

Compatible with:

Pros:

  • Vaping on it is really comfortable as the drip tip is rounded, smooth, and short
  • Is a beast when it comes to flavor and vapor production
  • The draw still is a bit restricted even with the airflow holes fully open
  • The post-less build deck allows for both single coil and dual coil builds
  • There is absolutely no leaking if wicking is nicely done

Cons:

  • Building on it might be a bit of a challenge especially for beginners
  • The glass has a tendency to spin around even when tightened

A collaboration between Dovpo and Sam Parsons who is also known as Vaping Bogan, the Blotto features a multitude of small, little holes and ramps on both sides – resulting to an airflow (set at over 242 degrees) that comes from everywhere. The Blotto has a pretty simple and straightforward deck that can take both a single coil and dual coil build. You also get to choose between three tube options as it comes with a 2mL TPD straight glass tube, a 6mL glass bubble tube, and a 6mL ULTEM bubble tube. The tank’s color matches that of the drip tip with the tip having a small frosted portion. Taking off the top cap will reveal two large kidney ports which make filling the tank a breeze.

Pros:

  • Both coil setup and wicking are easy as there is lot of room in the deck to fit the supplied coils
  • With two accessible fill ports, refilling is made super easy
  • The PC and Delrin drip tips are heat-resistant and stay nice and cool
  • There is no spit-back or leaks
  • Machining is very well done

Cons:

  • It consumes quite a lot of juice
  • The e-liquid capacity could be bigger

A single coil RTA with a 2.3mL e-liquid capacity, the OFRF Gear features a top-fill system and bottom adjustable airflow. The bottom adjustable airflow, when combined with the RTA’s ultra-short air passage design and domed chamber, delivers dense vapor and amazing flavor. The glass can be detached from the top of the tank as the deck unscrews at the base. Four flat-head screws are held by the deck. The coils included in the kit have legs that go in the same direction, which needs a little bit of screwing so as to get them to opposite ends. Both the 510 wide bore PC drip tip and the 510 regular bore Delrin drip tip look stylish and are comfortable on the lips as they sit perfectly with their curved edges.

#8 Vapefly Brunhilde Top Coiler RTA

A Superbly-Built, Huge RTA

6.5/10 icon-question Review score
Diameter:

Drip tip:
Resin
Compatible with:
icon-eliquids
Vapor production
icon-vaporicon-vaporicon-vaporicon-vapor
Heat-up time
icon-battery 1 s.

Pros:

  • Is excellently built and designed with a unique look
  • Can be filled without having to remove its sleeve; e-liquid level is also clearly seen
  • Good vapor production and flavor is on point
  • Because the drip tip slightly extends inside the RTA’s domed area, spit-back is reduced
  • Coil mounting is a breeze as it has the traditional velocity-style post system

Cons:

  • Refilling it through the side fill ports takes some time
  • Wicking could be a hit or miss
  • Is very tall and might not be for everyone

Designed by the German 103 Team, the Vapefly Brunhilde’s main feature is its innovative airflow system that surrounds the top cap. The airflow is adjusted by making use of the small internal metal piece that rotates with the top cap. The Brunhilde can be used with either the TPD tank with a 2mL e-liquid capacity or the standard tank with an 8mL e-liquid capacity. This RTA has a high-quality SS hollow construction and adopts four SS wires sourced from Germany that features a continuous and automatic e-liquid refilling system. The Brunhilde’s build deck easily supports a dual coil setup, with the coils lining up on the same horizon with the build deck. It has a side-fill system. This RTA’s juice well is really deep – providing a lot of room for soaking up e-liquid into excess wick from the tank section.

What are RTAs?

They are pretty much like a sub-ohm tank but usually have RBA decks. RTAs don’t come with built-in coils, and thus offer a lot more options for customizing your vaping experience. They have everything from build decks to wicking materials, to coil configuration. You can flirt with so many different things and their combinations, that even the sky isn’t the limit.

Let’s move to the next question, which one is the very best RTA available on the market? Well, there are no silver bullets. One of the RTAs might be ideal for one vaper, but might be a total disaster for another. Therefore, we have compiled a list of the very best RTAs, one of them will fit your bill. With an array of materials, there are types of RTAs that will suit every taste and budget. From Delrin drip tips to glass tanks, the different materials are what sets each brand and model RTA apart.

RTA Capacity Price
Vandy Vape Kylin M 24mm RTA Vape Tank 3/4.5mL $29.90
Uwell Fancier Dual RTA 4mL $19.95
Wotofo Profile Unity RTA 3.5/5mL $34.99
Kylin V2 RTA 6ml $25.99
Wotofo Bravo RTA 4.5ml $25.49
Dovpo x Vaping Bogan Blotto RTA 2/6mL $33.95
OFRF Gear 24mm RTA 2.3mL $26.99
Vapefly Brunhilde Top Coiler RTA 2/8mL $54.99

RTA vaporizers are the next step forward for people who have just entered the vaping world. RTA vapes offer some benefits that make them useful for all vapers. As they are cheaper in the long run, they last longer, they give better flavor, and once the initial learning curve has been mastered, they are simple to use.

With all of that being said there is a hierarchy when it comes to RTA vapes. These are the six best RTP vaporizers that are currently on the market for any user to only pick them up and begin making the change from spending a fortune to vaping with confidence.
RTA structure image

Which Is Best?

When it comes to which RTA is best, there are three front-runners that stand out from the crowd. Each one provides a different aspect that a user might be looking for to ensure that it will provide the best quality vape. If a user wants a huge tank, ease of use and great build quality then the Vandy Vape Kylin is the best atomizer for them.

If they want a vape that will handle the rough and tumble of the day as well as provide a high-quality flavor experience, then the GeekVape Zeus will provide what they are looking for. If a user wants a high wattage vaping experience with huge cloud production combined with incredible build quality, then the Smok TFV8 is the best RTA to choose. Each RTA offers different classes, but together they offer something for everyone.

If you are one of the almost 11 million people who vape in the US alone, then you no doubt have thought about how to customize the vaping experience. Building an RTA to personalize a vaporizer is probably the best way to go for many.

I have the first three on this list and while I like them all the best tank I have or have even used is still my VGOD tricktank pro RDTA. It’s better than my fireluke freemax with mesh deck RBA or the mesh coils that fireluke sends them with and it’s just a 2 post 2 wire coil rdta without air flow control (cover air holes with grip ring if you have too) I’ve had it over a year and have been trying hard to find something better. If my indulgence Mutank wasn’t so rare it should be on this list, it’s also narrow enough to fit on an aspire Pockex or other pen mods like a copper. I’ll keep looking for one to outperform my VGOD tricktank pro RDTA, it feels odd having a tank over a year old on my new dotmod, but not even my mesh RDTA can compare. This VGOD tricktank pro is a freak of nature. I work at a vape shop and have access to a lot of diverse products and only thing that even comes close is a mesh tank and even then it has to be at almost 2x the wattage I use on the VGOD tricktank Pro.

Unfortunately, I believe my preference in RTAs don’t fit the bill for most favorites lists. I like to use 18650’s, and prefer tube mods, single battery regulated mods, or the Epipe I have. Most tanks coming out now have 24mm+ diameter, and overhangs on a lot of the mods I have. I have been using a goblin mini for a couple of years now, and have yet to find a good 22mm top fill replacement. Smok Spirals was one contender, but the build deck stropped… even when I was extremely careful. It is the only atomizer that was ruined because of one stripped screw in 5 years. Add to the fact that they stopped offering it a few months after release, and it makes it a dead end. The Geekvape Griffin was a contender, but there was a press fit that didn’t hold up in the long run. Currently trying out the Sigeli Moonshot, but I am already having problems With back pressure leaking juice after I fill it. Not to mention it is fidgety to begin with because of the replaceable and hard to build on deck. The goblin V3 also had the same problem as the moonshot with the back pressure pushing too much juice into the wick after filling.

So far, it’s still the original Goblin mini/nano as the most leak proof, easy building, high taste RTA that is 22mm.

Check out the Indulgence Mutank, it’s the exact same size as the Aspire Atlantis and is a dream to build. Great tank and it long but narrow, great for pen mod.

To me your list is a bit disappointing. You only go for the massive clouds producing devices. I miss the Vandy Vape Berserker, the Innokin Ares, the Flash e Vapor, Siren 2, Vapefly Galaxies, Ammit and Manta. All of them are great MtL devices, although with some (like the Ammit or the Manta) one experiences a rather loose draw. Your RDA list lacks MtL devices too. What about the Chtulu Hastur, the NarDa or the Vapefly Galaxies RDA or RDTA? Not every vaper is a cloud-chaser. Some of us don’t care at all for clouds – we are so-called flavor-chasers and all we care about is excellent taste.

I found this site to be moderately helpful but I had to go out and find more information about each tank. Because of this, I didn’t buy the tank I choose by clicking on your links. I would have been happy to use an affiliate link on your site (giving you the commission) to buy the tank if this was the only resource I needed. I included some ideas that would have made my experience better (you’re welcome):

    – How about some pros and cons for each tank? Even if they are subjective and your opinion.
    – Actual prices or maybe MSRP?
    – Maybe a breakdown on why you chose the ratings (overall, quality, value)?
    – Color choice and size are big factors in choosing a tank yet they didn’t seem that important in your ratings.
    – In addition to your opinion about what makes the tank great, I would have loved to see objective information about each tank
    – Perhaps some links to additional youtube or video reviews for each tank (Or even better, keep them embedded on this site so I don’t have to leave)
