A cigalike is an electronic cigarette that looks and feels like a real cigarette but only produces vapor and not smokes. Cigalikes were among the first e-cigarettes to appear on the market. They took the familiar look of a real cigarette to give smokers the feeling that they were smoking real one. Cigalike are out of fashion now, but there are still some around for OG vapers who enjoy them.

The Mig Vapor 21 electronic cigarette has impressive features and specifications. The vape has a 320 mah cell that performs very well compared to its competitors. It also provides a steady and consistent stream of 4.2 volts every time it is fired. Each time it is fired, the Mig Vapor 21 vape fires instantly, thanks to the inclusion of an IC controller board. Additionally, a Clear Fusion tank is included in the starter kit.
Pros:
Good for mouth-to-lung vaping, so it is a great option for beginners
Solid output for strong throat hit and good vapor production
The Snaps Rev4 electronic cigarettes are cigalike devices since they copy a real cigarette’s shape and look. But the vape uses a pre-filled e-liquid pod joined to a draw-activated battery. The tobacco-flavored e-liquid comes in three different nicotine strengths ranging from 0 to 1.2mg to 2.0mg. The Snaps cartridges come separately. So users need to connect them to the battery to begin vaping. The assembled electronic cigarette has no buttons or controls but is fully rechargeable.
Pros:
Long-lasting pod and is a rechargeable battery that creates excellent vapor production
No-nicotine options for vapers who are trying to quit
Easy to use and modern, so it is a great e-cig for a first vape
Cons:
Only tobacco flavors are available, but you have three tobacco options
The VaporFi Express tobacco bundle is for ex-smokers and people who want to replicate that smoking feeling without smoking. The pods come in 0%, 6%, 12%, or 24% nicotine. VaporFi has many starter kits, but this one is perfect for beginners or someone who has never vaped. The e-cigs are easy-to-use, portable, and produce excellent vapor. The batteries use USB charging and are also of different lengths and capacities. One cell has a power of 180mAh, and another has a higher power of 280mAh.
Pros:
Easy-to-use and compact vape is a good option for vaping on a go
Two batteries are included in the kit, so you don't need to buy an extra one separately
Good throat hit for users who like more "hard" vaping
KandyPens is a well-known name in the vaping industry. They make devices for e-liquid, dry herb, and wax vaping. Their devices are stylish, unique pieces that are well-built and have lifetime warranties.
The different power levels have different color settings. The lowest power setting has a green light, the next is blue, and the highest is red. An LED light behind the firing button shows the battery level and power output.
The 280mAh cell has a smooth, shiny surface. Also, It features a Sesh mode that keeps the cell working past its automatic cutoff time. In addition, the cell supports both pre-filled e-liquid and oil cartridges.
Pros:
Supports both e-liquids and oils, so be sure you can choose your favorite material
Compatible with any 510-threaded cartridge battery that has a short rechargeable time
Covered by a lifetime warranty, so don't worry about damage to your vape
Cons:
Low power output with no adjustable settings makes the airflow weak
The blu Plus is a semi-rechargeable vape that uses a separate, pre-filled tank section, which connects to the cell section. The electronic cigarette is draw-activated, and the tank lasts nearly 550 puffs. So there are no buttons on the controls to fiddle with. It works as soon as you connect the tank to the cell. The blu Plus is a rechargeable device that takes 30 to 40 minutes. Also, two flavors and nicotine strengths are available for the e-cigarette, ranging from Classic Tobacco to Menthol.
Pros:
The device has more vapor production than their previous models, but it won't give you such big clouds as RDA or RTA mods
Good menthol and tobacco flavors with pure tastes
Rechargeable and disposable e-cig, so it is easy to use and will be an excellent choice for beginners
Cons:
Cordless USB charger, so to charge it, you need to stick to a USB port
Cigalike looks like an analog cigarette, complete with the white cigarette paper, filter end, and glowing LED tip. The earliest e-cigarettes took that form, and there were some variations. Others changed color or lost the LED tip and adopted a sleeker look.
But the basic configuration of any cigalike consists of:
An integrated vape (pod and battery together)
Draw-activated (no buttons)
Disposable or rechargeable
The length, battery, and e-liquid capacity vary among brands, makes, and models. But the main characteristic of a cigalike is its cylindrical shape. Anything larger than that or shaped differently becomes a pod or disposable vape. Cigalikes need to look like cigarettes in some way to be cig-a-like.
Things You Don't Want a Cig-a-Like To Have
A cig-a-like should NEVER have any of the following features:
Cracked or broken exterior
Low-quality e-juice
Poorly designed coil
The battery that dies too quickly
Cig-a-likes were among the first vaping devices ever. And they still exist in the form of Vuse, blu, and other popular brands. Cig-a-likes are easy-to-use and do not require much maintenance or assembly since they are self-contained. In addition, they often have pre-filled pods with a one or 0.5ml e-juice capacity.
They are often cheaply priced, but some similar devices, like the Juul and the ePuffer SNAPS, are high-quality. They use good materials like silica wicks and magnetic connections. And they have premium nicotine salt e-juice inside. These are the types of devices that cig-a-likes should copy. But some still come with defective batteries, poorly made exteriors, and use low-quality e-juice.
How Does a Cigalike Work?
E-cigarettes have no complicated controls, buttons, or screens and work on draw-activation. You only need to inhale from the mouthpiece to activate the internal battery and create vapor. The battery will activate and heat the e-liquid inside the pod and create an inhalable aerosol.
E-cigarettes come pre-filled with e-juice. So you do not have to fill them, but they also come in various flavors and nicotine strengths. As a result, they are often ready to be used immediately, while others need a slight battery charge before use. Some cigalikes are rechargeable and come with USB chargers in the starter kit.
FAQ
How to dispose of e-cigarette coils?
E-cigarettes need to be treated like any other battery-powered vape and disposed of safely and properly. You can safely dispose of spent e-cigarettes and cigalikes in many ways, like sending them to hazardous waste disposal or recycling the battery.
How many volts does a cigalike provide?
A typical cigalike cell can output anywhere from 2.4 or 3.7V, depending on its type inside the device.
What e-cig flavors taste like a cigarette?
The original e-cigarette flavor was named Ruyun. It came in the pre-filled e-cigarette manufactured by the inventor of the modern e-cigarette, Hon Lik. But today, thousands of different e-juice flavors mimic tobacco flavors.
Our Thoughts
Cigalikes were the first vaping device many people used since they were one of the first e-cigarettes to come on the market. They were meant to imitate the look and feel of a real cigarette to convince smokers there was no difference between them and real cigarettes. They were easy to use and contained nicotine, but there was nothing else you could change, like the nicotine strength or flavor.
People eventually tired of them, but you can still find cigalikes in most vape and smoke shops. Their quality is not that great, but they are a novelty. There are newer, more modern devices with better technology and more customizable features that outperform many cigalikes, but many people still like them.
