The Dabado Bolt Pro 2 is a semi-portable e-nail for dabs that comes with two extra-large bowls – quartz and ceramic – a spare heating element, and a spill-proof water glass piece. The entire ring consists of the sturdy battery section, along with the water glass piece that fits snug over the heating element.

Users can attach any type of nail they wish to the heating element by simply unscrewing it and attaching a new one. The battery section also features a tiny digital display that shows users the current temperature and also allows them to change it in increments of 50F, between 200F and 900F.

A Closer Look at the Dabado Bolt Pro and Pro 2

The Dabado Bolt Pro 2 is an update to the original Bolt that also uses several types of a bowl – quartz, titanium, ceramic – that users can attach to the heating element on the top. The main difference between the two devices is that the original has preset heating, while the Bolt Pro 2 features precision temperature control.

The unit has a single operating button that also toggles the heating temperature between the two preset temperatures. Users click the button three times for the lowest setting to engage, while they click the button five times to access the highest temperature. The heat-up times differ between the two heat settings, but they are not so long, only a few more seconds.

Dabado Bolt Pro 2

The Bolt Pro 2, on the other hand, has a small, horizontal OLED that displays the temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Users can press the operating button to find their ideal temperature and then let it reach temperature so users can add their material to the bowl on top. Both devices use a single, removable 18650 battery, which is included in the kit.

Users install the cell from underneath, by removing the threaded, bottom section of the unit. The device – the Bolt Pro or the Bolt Pro 2 – also features a USB port for recharging the battery, if users do not have an external charger, but batteries should always be charged in an external charge, if possible.

Kit Contents

There are only a few accessories included in the kit, as it is a rather simple device to use and assemble. The kit does, however, come in a sturdy, traveling case with a foam insert inside to safely store all of the rig’s accessories.

Dabado Bolt Pro 2 kit

Users will find the following inside their Dabado Bolt Pro 2 case:

  • One x Bolt Pro 2
  • One x Bolt Pro 2 Case
  • One x 18650 Battery
  • One x Magnetic Stand
  • One x Silicone Protector
  • One x Silicone Container
  • One x Glass Attachment
  • One x Pro XL Ceramic Nail
  • One x Pro XL Quartz Nail
  • One x Pro XL Titanium Nail
  • One x USB Charger

The Look and Feel of the Device

The device has a simple, easy-to-use design intended to be familiar to users of traditional torch dab rigs, while also appealing to new vapers. The battery section is where users will find the OLED and the power button to get the device started. The battery section is wrapped in an aluminum alloy with a smooth texture.

Dabado Bolt Pro 2

The main device is easy to get around, as there is only a single operating button that controls all of the unit’s features. The OLED is a little small and dark, but it is easy-to-read indoors. The top section, which is the bowl section, has threads so users can simply unscrew the bowl and attach either of the two that comes in the kit. The bowls are rated XL and it is true, they offer a lot of room to add a lot of material, but users can simply add a pea-sized portion for a good session.

The case also includes a special magnetic base that attaches to the bottom of the battery section so it stands upright and never moves, even when the glass water pipe is attached. The water pipe itself is unique as it has a no-spill design, so even if you tip it over accidentally, it will not spill. It is made of durable glass, but despite its spill-proof design, it still might not be shatter-proof.

Getting the Dabado Started

The Dabado is surprisingly easy-to-use. The device uses a removable battery so the first thing users have to do to get it started is to install the battery. There is a single 18650 cell included in the kit, but users should check the battery level with an external charger. The cell may have a half-charge on it, but you can also install it into the device to make sure.

Dabado Bolt Pro 2

Once the cell is installed activation is easy. For the original Bolt, users had to first choose what temperature they wanted, which then decided how to turn on the unit. The lowest temperature required three clicks of the firing button. The highest temperature (there are only two preset temperatures) required five clicks.

With the Bolt Pro 2, that process is not necessary. Users can simply turn on their device with three clicks of the central button – shaped like a bolt – which is a soft-rubber texture. The OLED will light up and display things like current temperature, battery level, resistance, voltage. Users can then adjust the temperature in increments of 50F, so 300F will go up to 350F or go down to 250F.

The highest available temperature on the battery is 900F. Before even turning on the device, of course, users should also decide what bowl they want to use from among the three included in the kit. Users can attach either the titanium or quartz for quick heat-up times and massive hits or the ceramic bowl for a slower heat-up time and more flavorful hits.

How the Dabado Bolt Pro 2 Performs

The two devices both have excellent functionality and produce very good vapor. The simple design and high-powered battery combine to give users a straightforward, easy-to-use experience. The setup is very easy to understand, even for first-time dabbers. It is a simple process to get the device started.

Dabado Bolt Pro 2

Users need only attach their preferred bowl, insert the battery, turn on their device, and set the temperature. Once they have set the temperature the device only takes a few seconds to get hot. The nail starts to smoke, which means it’s ready. Everything in the kit is ideal for dabbing. The magnetic carb cap and dab tool are a perfect accessory for this device, which almost gives it a hands-free design.

The main feature of the two devices is the versatility of the bowls. With three different materials, users can get the full spectrum of flavors and cloud sizes from their waxes. The titanium and quartz bowls give one experience. The ceramic bowl is another style, so there is something for everyone with the kit.

The Competition

Dabado Bolt Pro

The Dabado Bolt Pro is the original version. The only difference between the two devices is their temperature control style. The device has only two preset temperatures loaded onto its chip, so users do not have the same flexibility as they do with the new device.

Dabado Bolt

The original has much of the same design as the new one. It stands at the same height and uses a single 18650 battery as a power source. The device also comes with several bowl types from titanium to quartz to ceramic.

Dr. Dabber Boost

The Dr. Dabber Boost is very similar in design and functioning to the Bolt Pro 2 and vice-versa. The Boost has an internal battery so users do not have to worry about charging or loading a battery. The Boost also comes with three bowls made of the same material as the Dabado device. It also comes with a glass water mouthpiece that fits over the bowl.

Dr Dabber Boost

The Boost, however, does not have precision temperature control and uses presets like the original. The temperature is based on which nail is attached: higher temperatures for the quartz and titanium, lower temperature for the ceramic bowl.

Positives and Negatives

The Positives

  • Easy-to-use

  • Versatile choice of bowls
  • Precision temperature control
  • The kit comes fully accessorized

The Negatives

  • The screen is a little too dark

Conclusion: Dabado Bolt Pro 2 Review: A Great Way to Start Dabbing

Have you ever dabbed? Did you use the original? What other ways do you like to vape concentrates? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Dabado Bolt Pro 2 comes with everything you need to start dabbing right out of the box. The kit even includes a 18650 battery in case you don’t already have one. The choice of three distinct bowls, which are XL, means that users have the freedom to move between different styles. The bowls are also very large so they can accommodate more material, but it is not necessary to fill up the bowl, only use a small amount.

The battery life is also excellent, as you can get over four hours of operating time on a single charge, depending on what temperature you vape at. And, if you do have another 18650 cell lying around, you can easily swap out the batteries when they are done. The vapor quality is next to perfect. The water bubbler is an excellent way to refine the vapor quality, as the high temperatures can create some harsh vapor, which is why it is important to cool it down.
