The Geekvape Obelisk 65 FC is a high-powered pod mod with an internal battery system. It combined 2500mAh capacity and a 65W high power output. The Obelisk features a solidly built main section with its zinc-alloy construction. It is fitted with decorative side panels and a back TFT for custom control. The mod also incorporates a refillable and removable 4.5ml capacity pod. Also, it uses several coil types. The kit includes two sub-ohm coils from the GeekVape Coil B series rated at 0.2ohm and 0.4ohms, respectively.

An Up-Close Look at the Obelisk

The Geekvape Obelisk 65 FC is a powerful pod mod. It features two 1100mAh batteries that run in series to give it added durability and power. In addition, the pod mod features a back TFT that measures 0.96”. It lets users access the mod’s multiple offerings thanks to the GeekVape AS chipset installed inside.

The rest of the pod mod kit features solid, zinc-alloy construction. The batteries are built into the device. And there are no removable panels or other separate pieces, so it all comes as one solid piece. The pod is removable and has several distinguishing features. We will discuss it later.

The pod mod kit measures about 27mm in width and almost 100mm in height. So it is sizable for a pod mod, but those dimensions are understandable for a dual-celled device. The mod has a wide TFT screen with a single firing button at the top and a rocker-style switch at the bottom. To the left of the screen is a USB-C charging port with super-fast charging (the “FC” in the title). It claims to fully charge the two batteries in under 18 minutes.

The other thing that sets the device apart is its capacity to charge other devices with its two internal batteries. Users can access the OTG through the mod’s main screens and choose it from the different vaping outputs installed on the chipset, ranging from power, variable power control, temperature control, and bypass mode.

What’s in the Box?

The Obelisk pod mod kit is a versatile and multi-functional device. Its kit includes many essential and unique accessories to keep it in good condition.

  • 1 x Geekvape Obelisk 65 FC Device
  • 1 x Geekvape Obelisk 65 Pod
  • 1 x 0.2ohm B Coil
  • 1 x 0.4ohm B Coil
  • 1 x Coil Tool
  • 1 x Spare Parts Pack
  • 1 x USB-C Cable

The Look and Feel of the Obelisk

The mod does feel heavy due to its two internal cells. So there’s no getting around the fact that it does not have the compactness or lightweight characteristics of a typical pod device. However, what the unit loses in ergonomics and comfort makes up for power and capacity. The extra heft from the batteries gives this pod mod sub-ohm abilities.

The screen is multicolored and very easy to read. The control buttons are solid, have no rattle, and respond quickly to all actions. Because there are no removable pieces apart from the pod section, it uses a magnetic connection to stay securely in place. As a result, the entire pod mod kit feels as solid as previous Geekvape mods built to last.

The Power Options

The device has two internal 1100mAh batteries with a total of 2500mAh capacity. Geekvape claims the device can also be used as a power bank. But that is only if you purchase a separate charging PD-F fast charger for the device to use as a charger. But if you already have a fast PD-F charger, you can use it with the mod.

The large capacity of the two cells, coupled with the variable wattage and temperature control settings, allows you to use the mod for a long time. The internal battery has an output limit of up to 65W, ideal for supporting a mouth-to-lung or direct-lung vaping experience. In addition, the coils have a wide range of suitable wattage ranges that go from 20W to 85W, giving users a lot of versatility.

With the precision of the control panel, you can also find the ideal power output for your preferred style of vaping to suit the coil you are using. If you use a PD-F fast charger, you can set the internal OTG for fast charging the internal battery. It can recharge the batteries with 3A and, according to Geekvape, in under 18 minutes.

Obelisk Pod and Coil Types

The Obelisk pod is all-plastic and has an adjustable airflow control ring lining its bottom. The pod is fully removable and uses a magnetic connection to stay in place. In addition, the unit has a built-in fill port facing up covered with a removable rubber stopper. This design means you do not have to remove the pod to refill it.

There is a 510-drip tip that protrudes from the top of the pod and is neither non-adjustable nor removable. The pod uses a removable coil system, but they are removed from the bottom of the device. So users will have to remove the pod from the battery section to remove the coils fully. In addition, the entire e-juice reservoir is hidden from view when the pod is in the battery compartment. So you will also have to remove the pod to view the juice levels.

The coils included in the kit are ideal for both mouth-to-lung and direct-lung vaping. The 0.2ohm coil is rated for between 50-58W. And it is a nickel-plated coil suitable for temperature control vaping. The other coil is Kanthal and has a resistance of 0.4ohms that can vape anywhere between 25-35W.

Getting Started

The Obelisk is not a draw-activated device. However, it has significant battery power. Thanks to the AS chipset, it has advanced and adjustable vaping outputs ranging from power and temperature control to bypass and smart mode. The device has a single firing/power button on the front of the TFT screen and uses only a two-button control panel.

Five clicks turn the device on and off and activate the start-up menu. The display is well-made and contains information in a crisp, unpixelated format, making it easy to use and viewable. You can use the two rocker-style buttons to switch between operating modes, number seven in total, including the OTG mentioned above or power bank mode.

Users should fill the pod first, depending on the coil. They can fill it with everything from regular nicotine e-juice to nicotine salt with an even 50/50 VG/PG split. Then, they can install the pod and activate the device to choose their preferred vaping mode. The Smart mode is convenient because it can automatically detect the coil resistance inside and then set the ideal vaping parameters.

Those with experience in vaping can switch between wattage, temperature control, or bypass mode. Users need only press the firing button to select their modes when toggling and then use the up/down buttons to set their preferred settings. The controls work very well and have a very fast response time.

The Competition

VooPoo Drag S Pro

voopoo drag s pro

The Drag S Pro from VooPoo has a larger battery capacity than the Obelisk (3000mAh) and a larger overall frame and profile than the Geekvape pod mod. The Drag S Pro also comes with the new GENE.FAN 3 chipset which allows vapers access to a smart, an RBA mode, wattage, and temperature control. The Drag S Pro also has a larger pod capacity, at 5.5ml capacity, and comes with two sub-ohm coils in the kit rated at 0.15ohms and 0.3ohms, respectively.

UWell Caliburn AK2

Uwell Caliburn AK2

The UWell Caliburn AK2 is a mini-mod like the regular Caliburn pod mod by the cut in half. The AK2 features a removable cartridge compatible with the other Caliburn pods and has a top-fill method. The AK2 is a miniature device and uses draw-activation to operate. There are no buttons or controls on the device, and there are also no screens or displays. The pods use a 0.9ohm coil, attach magnetically to the primary device, and have USB-C charging.
