The 510 thread vape pen battery is a universal thread design that makes it possible connecting your battery to almost any vape tank or cartridge. It is sometimes referred to as an ego thread, and it connects the battery to the cartridge.
The vape pen battery is called a 510 because the cartridge is typically 5 mm in length and there are 10 screw heads. The battery of a vape pen is one of its most important components because it stores and supplies the power to the atomizer. Some 510s use preset temperatures while others have multiple temperature settings.

The Special K vape might look like it belongs in mom’s makeup case, but do not be deceived by its appearance. This is a powerful device with a battery that can last for a long time. It has three voltage settings: 3.2V (Red), 3.7V (Green), and 4.2V (Blue).
Another reason to buy this vape is its ergonomic form and the carrying case. It can fit in pockets and purses without taking up a lot of space. Plus, it comes with a travel case for keeping it safe while it is in a suitcase or backpack. It is a 510 device with 1 ml juice capacity that is handmade by American workers.
The Mig Vapor Pro 50 fires up to an incredible 50 watts, and it has a tube like exterior that makes it comfortable to hold and convenient to carry. Another reason to get this device is that it has a powerful battery, a sub-herb vape tank, special wicking for concentrates, and a dabbing tool, and much more. Additionally, shoppers can also get a grinder at a discounted price when they make a purchase.
The Vapor Zeus is a dual mode e-cigarette that allows users to vape it on automatic or manually with the firing button. It is powered by a five volt battery that provides a steady stream of voltage while it is charged. It also has pass-through charging, meaning it can be vaped while it is being charged.
It also has a slim and smooth appearance, making it both portable, practical, and eye appealing. The size of a thumb drive, the Vapor Zeus is easy to carry around. It can also be used without attracting attention. Finally, it is available in five vibrant colors, including blue, green, and pink.
Compact size makes it very concealable and portable
The battery provides slightly fewer puffs than expected
The small size shouldn’t fool you as the battery packs quite a punch. The Kandypens new upgraded 350 mAh instead of the old 180 mAh unit provides a lot more power.
There are three variable voltage settings controlled by a button which displays a different color-coded LED light in the button and on the bottom of the pen depending on the volts:
Red – 4.1 volts
Blue – 3.9 volts
Green – 3.7 volts
The button also turns the battery on by pressing it five times.
The 510 universal threading allows plenty of choices for any type of vapor. Using the toggle on the side, it is easy to find the perfect voltage setting for the type of vaping desired. It easily attaches to any cartridge.
The ultracompact design and the three colors, black, white, or cherry red, make this very fashionable for even the most discriminating vapor.
Pushing the button twice enters Sesh Mode. This allows the heating element to stay lit longer for consecutive hits.
The Open Vape 2.0 has four voltage settings and a simple stylus control for easy customization and use.
It has an attractive metallic finish and eight color options:
The cylindrical design makes it a nice unit to carry. In addition to the looks and functionality, the variable voltage battery has a rapid charge mode with an auto shut off. This helps save not only battery power but allows users to quickly get it ready between vape sessions.
A nice feature is a light at the base of the pen, which blinks after eight seconds, letting you know you have reached the perfect puff.
When it repeatedly blinks, the battery is ready for a recharge.
The on/off is button activated. There is a color-coded light display making it easy to determine the status and settings.
A micro USB charging system comes with each Vape 2.0.
Battery life is not conducive for prolonged vape sessions
This battery fits the Dr. Dabber Light Vaporizer Pen, the Light Atomizer, and the Light Top. These pens, made for wax and oil concentrates, are not much bigger than a cigarette, so the battery is very slim.
The sleek, slim design makes these Dr. Dabber units popular with vapors looking for something sexy and discrete.
It fits any 510-threading pattern. Vapors can use it with any 510 threaded, similar sized, atomizers, mouthpieces, or tanks.
The battery measures approximately .5 x 1 x 3.25 inches and weighs .05 lbs. It has a 650 mAh size battery and 3.7-volt output.
This replacement battery uses the same low heat titanium technology as the other Dr. Dabbler batteries use.
Each unit comes with a USB charger. The battery screws right into the charger and takes about two hours to fully charge.
Dr. Dabber backs the batteries with a three month, no-questions-asked full warranty.
This is a compact, handheld oil vape pen battery for prefilled 510 cartridges that is discreet and easy-to-use. It has a three-level power supply of basic, medium, and high power levels.
This battery is great for prefilled cartomizers and atomizers, and it can be used in places like New York, Washington State, and California where they sell prefilled cartridges with less than stellar batteries. This battery is great, and it can last a long time. One reviewer even commented that he or she was able to go several days without charging. It goes great with the Canna Blast Tank.
The CCELL Silo is an elegant and portable device that incorporates an unpretentious design into a concentrate vaporizer. It has a draw activated firing system and various temperature settings. The Silo has two 510 threaded magnetic adapters for changing CCELL cartridges, and the battery has a cartridge observation port so you can look at it without pulling out the charger. It is powered by a 500 mah battery, and it has a power indicator. Some drawbacks are that the CCELL only works with CCELL atomizers, and CCELL cartridges are sold separately. Another problem noted by several reviewers is that the company that makes them has a reputation for poor customer service.
The 510 thread battery is standard for commercially sold vape cartridges. Almost all pens today base their mechanisms on the 510 thread.
Some, not many, batteries, however, can be too strong to use with a 510-thread, so read the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure whatever battery used is not one of them.
Although the 510 thread batteries have a more restricted airflow than 808s, the 510s produce more vapor and allow larger, denser clouds.
Some come prefilled with oils or extracts, and some are sold empty, so it is possible to fill them at home. They have more power than a generic vape pen battery which means better hits.
The battery takes about three hours to charge. Once it is fully charged screw the cartridge onto the battery and take a pull. Drawing on the cartridge will activate the battery and heat the oil to the right temperature to create a vapor.
The 510 thread battery enables a vaper to get an easy pull and a perfect puff, and they are calibrated to hit just the right temperature.
A 510 thread battery is compact.
It is small enough to fit in a pocket or purse but still packs a punch. The cartridge has evolved slightly since it was first manufactured and the diameter is now around 7 mm, not 5 mm.
When looking at the battery, there are two threads, an outer one and an inner one. The one used for the connection is the one on the inside.
Many companies manufacture various types of chargers as accessories to the 510 thread battery. For example, there are USB smart chargers made by several different companies, some with overcharge and overvoltage protection.
Adaptors for an 808 tank are also available.
Where to Get 510-Threaded Batteries
510-threaded batteries are difficult not to find. They are so universal and versatile that even sites unrelated to vaping like Amazon or eBay sell them. Vape shops and online vape retailers are the best places though, to get the batteries. Buying the batteries from these sits lets vapers pick up accessories like chargers and 510-thread adapters if they need them.
As the cells are essential to vaping pre-filled cartridges, even online dispensaries in legal states, sell the batteries. The batteries that vapers find on these sites are not the biggest, flashiest or most powerful, but they get the job done. The 510 cells on these sites are simply functional. They are supposed to be a means to an end (giving people a way to vape oil) rather than being the highlight themselves, so they do not have many features other than the basic ones like USB charging or a stylus tip.
What do I need to know about variable voltage?
Vape pen batteries come in a range of voltages, and most are a constant voltage that will always keep the output the same.
Variable voltage units allow users to adjust the voltage and hence the output.
The most common voltage range is between 3.3 to 4.8 volts. A stylus or slim pen is typically around 3.3 volts. This voltage works best with polycarbonate oil cartridges but does not produce enough volts to properly heat a ceramic cartridge.
Finding the perfect voltage depends on the atomizer’s resistance to reach an optimal temperature range of between 280 and 350 degrees Fahrenheit for most oils.
The coil also has an impact on the voltage used, as both together determine the watts.
510-threads have also given vapers more freedom, letting them pair odd mods and atomizers with each other so that there is no limit to what kind of combinations they can make.
Most vaping experts would say that the battery is the heart of any vaping device. The 510 thread battery has become the industry standard. Most manufacturers make their cartridges to connect with 510 threads. The only exceptions are the disposable pens that are not intended to disconnect from the batteries. The other exception is 808-threaded mods, which still exist, but are rare.
When was the first time you heard of a 510-threaded battery? When was the first time you used a 510-threaded battery? Did you know what it was or did you have to find out? Were they the first vape batteries that you used? Let us know your stories about these popular batteries in the section down below.
For a lot of people, vaping has introduced them to things they would have never known, one of them being 510-threads. Even though they are common on other everyday products, they are part of the vaping lexicon now, just like “ohms”, “coils”, “atomizers”. The use of 510-threads is also a practical decision, as it makes changing up between tanks and batteries that much easier since most vape gear like cells and atomizers already have them.
