The Vandy Vape PR SE starter kit features the Pulse V2 box mod and the Requiem BF RDA (rebuildable drip atomizer), an atomizer well known for producing high levels of vapor and excellent flavor.
It has a solid build quality and is highly resistant to the elements. It also has several power modes that allow users to tinker with the vaping experience.

Internal Building Quality and Design
Generally, the build quality and design of this vape are solid. There are no problems with the firing or adjustment buttons, and everything seems to be bolted down very well, as there is no rattling when the vape is shaken.
An excellent feature of the build is that the box mod is resistant to moisture and dust. This feature makes the Pulse V2 a suitable choice for people who work or spend a lot of time outside.
The mod has removable side panels held to the vape magnetically. These removable panels give users many options to customize the appearance of their box mods, should they choose to do so.
Battery Performance
The Pulse V2 uses single high-amp 20700 and 21700 batteries, but the starter kit comes with a 18650 battery adapter. As with the side panels, there are many options for batteries, depending on the user’s preferences.
The battery is held securely behind a magnetic side door and behind the panels. The magnetic doors sit very well on the vape, and there is no wiggling or play.
Screen
Looking at the screen, one might expect to see a simple black and white display. However, turning it on revealed a surprisingly vibrant color display.
The screen shows everything the user needs to know: the battery life is displayed in the top left corner; wattage is shown in the center in giant letters and numbers; and beneath that is resistance, voltage, puff counter, and a timer.
The Vandy Vape Requiem 22 mm BF RDA
The Requiem BF RDA is a decent atomizer with several impressive features. First, it looks terrific on the mod, and there is no overhang. Also, there is no excessive branding, save for the brand engraved on the outer ring, which is the color of the overhang.
The airflow caps are the most impressive feature of this tank, and they make the starter kit stand out. There are different caps for mouth-to-lung, direct lung, and restricted lung vaping.
The caps have the airflow coming in from the sides, and then go through the coil and up into the drip tip. However, some people may prefer an airflow control ring to interchangeable airflow caps.
There is one aspect of the RDA that most people most likely agree is a disadvantage. While the MTL drip tip is perfect, the DL and RDL drip tips sit too low to the top cap. Their size makes them very uncomfortable and inconvenient.
Coils
As earlier stated, the atomizer is compatible with stainless steel, nickel, and titanium coils. They are screwed to a postless build deck with two terminals, and the tops are secured with flathead screws. Getting the coils in there is very simple.
All you have to do is remove the screws, get the leads beneath the holes, and secure the coil while ensuring it is seated correctly and that the wicking can reach the juice wells.
Compatible Juices
Since this vape can handle mouth-to-lung and restricted and direct lung vaping, it can take a wide range of liquids. When using the direct and restricted lung airflow caps, use 70/30 or 80/20 vegetable glycerin to propylene glycol liquids, and use 60/40 or 50/50 for the restricted airflow caps.
Vapor Production
RDAs produce a lot of vapor, and this one is no different. Vape with the direct lung airflow cap at a high wattage setting for the maximum amount of vapor. This setting will reduce the battery life a bit, but it will produce a phenomenal amount of vapor.
How Long Do the Coils Last?
Custom-made coils last a very long time because the user can clean them. First, clean them every one to two weeks, letting them sit in hot water to loosen the burned juice and cotton. Afterward, clean them with an isopropyl alcohol solution. Cleaning them this way will make them as good as new.
To extend the time between cleaning sessions, use the high vegetable glycerin liquids for high wattage settings and restricted and direct lung vaping, and the 50/50 liquids for the mouth-to-lung cap on very low wattage settings (nothing above 18 watts).
How to Use the Vandy Vape PR SE Kit
- Charge the batteries on an external charger or use the USB-C cable to charge them while they are in the mod.
- Change the coils by removing the flathead screws and placing the leads of the coil directly beneath those screws while ensuring the wrap is above the squonk pin.
- Wick the coils by placing the cotton inside the wrap, and then comb the ends of the wicking. Once combed, trim both ends of the wicking and tuck them into the juice well.
- Place the squonk bottle inside and connect it to the RDA via the squonk pin.
- Prime by dripping liquid onto the coils and wicking and then pump more onto the RDA. Allow five to ten minutes for the liquid to fully saturate the coil and cotton.

Both vapes are squonk mods and have the same juice capacity, but the Wisemec Luxotic MF’s advantage is it can handle dual 21700 batteries, and the Pulse V2 cannot.
RDAs can drain batteries very quickly, so it is good to get as much battery life as possible. Also, the Wismec Luxotic is a few dollars cheaper.
Vandy Vape PR SE Kit vs. Geek Vape Aegis
These are two completely different devices. The Aegis is a tank mod, and the Pulse V2 is used for squonking. The Aegis’s advantage is that it is a 200 watt mod, allowing the coils to get very hot, while the Pulse V2 has half that wattage.

Final Thoughts
The Vandy Vape PR SE squonk kit is an excellent buy, but there are several cons buyers should be aware of:
- The low-profile drip tips are too short to be vaped comfortably. It would have been much better had they made them taller.
- There is the issue of battery life. It would have been better had they made the mod capable of supporting dual 20700/21700s.
- The temperature control mode needs some fine-tuning.
Other than that, this is a reasonably good box mod. It is rugged, has no leaking, and has a surprisingly good screen. Also, the airflow caps were a good idea, and people who do not like fiddling with airflow control rings will like them.
