The DAVINCI IQ Vaporizer is a good choice for someone who desires pure and clean vapor. In fact, it boasts of being one of the purest vaping experiences ever. However, that’s not all. It’s a sleek and stealthy vape that’s easy enough to be used by beginners and satisfying enough for experts.

The DAVINCI IQ will set you back $274.99. On the other hand, several accessories sweeten the deal despite the relatively steep price point of the vaporizer. Furthermore, it also boasts a 10-year warranty which very few other vapes can match.

The ceramic zirconia that is all throughout the vaporizer is very high in quality. Consequently, it not only improves the vapor but also makes you think that the unit belonged in a museum.

Difference Between The Davinci IQ and The DaVinci IQ 2

The DaVinci IQ2 vaporizer has since become the successor to the Davinci IQ. They have very similar properties, with the IQ2 being just about 9% larger than the IQ. However, IQ2 comes with a couple of improvements. For instance, the DaVinci IQ uses a cheap silicone mouthpiece, while the IQ2 uses a pure zirconia glass mouthpiece.

Also, The body of the DaVinci IQ has a sandblasted Aluminium finish which there’s technically nothing wrong with. However, the Brushed Aluminium finish of the IQ2 feels much better in comparison. Moreover, IQ2 added the new feature of real-time dosage tracking and dosage control.

Inarguably, The DaVinci IQ2 is a clear improvement over its predecessor, and it is a testament to how committed DaVinci manufacturers are to producing the best product.

Is the DAVINCI IQ Too Expensive?

The DAVINCI IQ is well worth the seemingly high $275 price point. It is because of its durable build, incredible performance, app integration, and ceramic zirconia make. Moreover, the app skyrockets the value by at least double. As a result, it is easily one of the top vapes because of its endless features and utmost customizability.

VD Davinci IQ

Compared to the DAVINCI Ascent and Classic, it is leaps and bounds better. In fact, it seems DAVINCI learned from any mistakes made with the two earlier models, as it comes without any of the shortcomings we saw in the earlier models. While the two are direct ancestors of IQ, it is obvious that it does take some inspiration from them.

DAVINCI IQ Vaporizer Design and Features

The DAVINCI IQ features 360 conduction heating which allows for the extract or dry herb to cook evenly and have a smoother taste. Additionally, the LED display is one of the best features of all the vapes. It allows you to see the status of your vaporizer without opening the app or having to look at the information-packed tiny screen.

The DAVINCI IQ is so sleek and small that you would think it wouldn’t be as durable as it is. However, the manufacturer knows its product and stands behind it with an industry-leading warranty.

VD Davinci IQ kit

No doubt, Smart Paths is possibly the best thing to come out of a vaporizer app. It allows you to customize your vape to almost no end. Smart Paths is a new way to customize your vaping experience. First, it allows you to start at any desired temperature and then slowly increase the temperature to a certain temperature over 10 minutes. Finally, you can go up as fast as you want for as long as possible to get a better burn throughout the entire session.

Battery Performance

The DaVinci IQ uses a rechargeable 18650 Lithium-ion 3500 mAh battery that can also be taken out of the device and replaced easily. The battery affords the vaper about 8 – 10 sessions per full charge, and a typical session lasts around 10 – 15 minutes. The device charges the battery via a micro-USB port.

However, the IQ takes a whole hellish 6 hours to charge completely with the micro USB port provided on the device. But a tip to circumvent this con would be to get an external 18650 battery charger, as it charges way faster. Also, getting a spare 18650 battery to easily swap in when the one in the device is flat and needs charging is another helpful hack.

In addition, the DaVinci IQ allows passthrough charging, so the user does not have to wait 6 hours to use their device.

Temperature Settings

The DaVinci IQ vaporizer has three primary temperature modes built in. They are the Precise mode, Smart Path, and Boost mode. Users can select the specific temperature between 250 – 430 degrees Fahrenheit they desire to vape in the precise mode. The LEDs on the device display the set temperature, and the up and down buttons can be used to change it.

In the Smart Path mode, the temperature will slowly rise over the selected temperature range throughout the vaping session. There are four preset temperature settings in the smart path.

  • 351 – 370 ℉
  • 370 – 390 ℉
  • 390 – 410 ℉
  • 410 – 430 ℉

The DaVinci IQ app can also adjust the smart path’s temperature curve. The boost mode sets the device to the highest possible temperature and is indicated with upward arrows moving on the LED display.

Vapor Quality

Although the manufacturer claims this device to be a conduction vaporizer, the first couple of draws on the IQ tastes as a hybrid vaporizer produces it. The quality of the vapor produced is so enjoyable that the DaVinci IQ could be considered the best conduction-based vaporizer available on the market.

The Zirconian ceramic vapor path is a significant pro on this device since it helps regulate the vapor’s temperature. Also, the it makes the path crack resistant.

Competitors On The Market

Pax 3 vs. DaVinci IQ

The Pax 3 and DaVinci IQ were released around the same time and are sold at similar pricing. The Pax 3 also uses a conduction heating style and has a silicone mouthpiece. However, the metallic vapor path doesn’t do much in the area of regulating the temperature of the vapor inhaled.

The Pax 3 also uses an integrated battery rather than a removable one. So overall, it has a less superior vapor quality and lacks the convenience of an easily removable battery.

Crafty+ vs. DaVinci IQ

The Crafty+ happens to be another quality vaporizer that falls within the same price range as the DaVinci IQ. It has a pure taste and exceptional airflow. Plus, it uses the more modern and widely accepted USB-C charging port.

The downside with Crafty+ is that it offers less versatility with temperature selection and control compared to the IQ. And the gap between the heating chamber and casing of the Crafty+ does not help its case against the IQ either.

What are the Positives of DAVINCI IQ Vaporizer

First of all, the DAVINCI IQ allows for over an hour of use in one session. And with Smart Paths, that hour can feel much longer because of the intense experience. Amazingly, the Haptic feedback on the vaporizer vibrates, so you know when you need to charge the DAVINCI. Also, it will let you know when it’s done charging. It includes a host of other things that you will be able to decipher through its buzzing.

Second, very few vapes can boast that their air path has a high crack resistance. As a matter of fact, they made it out of one of the best and most pure materials in the vaping world. Ceramic Zirconia is very hard to crack, and you will probably get many months of use out of one pipe at a time. Additionally, the oven in the IQ also features very good heat insulation, which ensures that heat stays in places where it should.

VD Davinci IQ design

Thirdly, IQ can also do many things and has great versatility. For this reason, it is very easy to load when you want to get your dry herb or wax into it. It also features Boost mode, allowing a quick temperature increase in case you want a quicker burn. In addition, holding the power button activates it, and the temperature climbs very rapidly until you release the button.

Finally, the removable battery allows you to take the IQ on long trips. It is ideal when you might not necessarily have a charger or even a wall outlet to plug into.

What are the Negatives of DAVINCI IQ Vaporizer

The tank size for the IQ is also a point of concern. It might not be good enough for some users considering vaporizers are available with much bigger tanks.

The draw resistance of the IQ doesn’t allow you to get those long, strong pulls and tends to baby you when you try. As a result, it ends up forcing you to take short; smaller pulls for apparently no reason.

There is a ceramic ball on the oven door that is easily detached At the same time, if you happen to lose that ball, it’s game over, as you can’t use the vape very well without that ball.

While the rest of the body feels sturdy, you cannot say the same about the mouthpiece. It’s made from the same cheap silicon you might have seen on products available at a much lower price point. Moreover, the inside of the vape stains pretty quickly and isn’t very easy to clean.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.

I ordered a Micro-c, it arrived and was damaged. The battery lid doesn’t close, leaving it unusable. I registered it for the warranty and sent a message to customer support. I have not had a response from customer support after many weeks of my complaint. I have to say that your customer support doesn’t live up to expectations and I will certainly post my review so others know what “not” to expect.

Hi Rene, sorry to hear about your Micro. It was supposed to be an easier-to-use, cheaper version of the IQ, but it has its problems. If the Micro is within your price range, can I recommend an older model Pax 2, which is a lot cheaper than the Pax 3 and IQ, but it makes quality vapor and has a lot of the same features as the newer models. The Pax 2 doeso not have things like Bluetooth 5.0, but if you only care about good battery life and excellent vapor quality, the Pax 2 has you covered. Hope this helps. Let us know what you decide in the future. Happy Vaping!

The IQ is a nice little vaporizer if you can get one that works properly. My first one just died, and Davinci followed up promptly sending me a new one. However, for the replacement, the mouthpiece always popped open whenever the unit heated up. I then sent it back, and Davinci sent me another replacement. That one has the same exact problem, and Davinci said they would replace it again. Yet, they haven’t done this, and have more recently clearly tried to avoid dealing with me. I’ve sent them many emails and it is crystal clear that they are merely trying to not address the issue whatsoever, and I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to deal with them.

I would not at all recommend buying an IQ, and I would never ever buy another product from Davinci. I’ve owned 5 vaporizers and would stay away from this company.
