The PuffIt Vaporizer is one of those “novelty” vaporizers that aren’t like anything else. This one looks just like a medical inhaler, which would make it a great choice for anyone who wants to be discreet.

The PuffIt vaporizer is very discreet and interesting, not to mention it’s cheap. But the vapor production could be a little better.
Are you tired of having to hide your vaping habit in public? PuffIt could have the solution for you in their little portable inhaler vaporizer. We tried it out for ourselves to see whether it was worth the asking price.
Design
It looks like a thick asthma inhaler. That makes it super discreet, and you’re never going to get in trouble with this thing from a casual observer. It’s all made to be very stealthy, which is great or people who need to vape on the go.
And since you will be vaping, there won’t really be much of an odor or any smoke to deal with. So you can keep your vaping on the down-low and never have to worry about getting in trouble for doing it in public again.
There are a lot of plastic and silicone parts in this unit. This means you may get an unpleasant smell when you vape. But keeping your habit discreet may be worth the price. That price, by the way, is $145, which is pretty low, but then you should keep in mind that you get what you pay for.
Use
To use the PuffIt, you just unscrew the cap on the top to load your herb and then remove the mouthpiece. Once the mouthpiece is taken off, a red indicator light comes on and lets you know that the device is ready to go. It will start heating up after you depress the cap for a few seconds. There aren’t any buttons to fiddle with, so you don’t have to worry about your actions looking off to anyone watching.
There are two different caps for the top of the device. One pushes the herbs down more and compresses the chamber. The other one stirs the herb chamber and makes sure that nothing gets left un-vaporized. In our experience, the stir cap works the best.
After you turn on the unit, the indicator light turns green. After about 10 seconds of heating, you have to depress the top again. That’s all somewhat complex, and it may throw off newer users who are looking for something simple.
Performance
Our unit’s performance was hit or miss. The first few puffs tasted pretty good, but after that, we got a lot of just hot air out of the PuffIt. We found that if you insert the springs that come in the box into the unit, you get a better vaping experience. You can also wait a bit longer when you initially start it up to let it reach a higher heat level.
This seems to help the vapor production, and some people have said that they get massive clouds out of the PuffIt. That wasn’t our experience at all, but it can produce some halfway decent vapor with a little trial and error.

Pros & Cons
The Positives
- Composability
- Usability
- Auto-shutoff
- The price is right
- Very discreet, beyond anything else on the market
- Decent vapor quality once you fiddle with it a bit
The Negatives
- Cleaning is a little tricky
- Controlling it can be somewhat convoluted
- The taste is not very good unless you really work with the unit
- Just doesn’t compare in quality to many of the options out there
Verdict
At the price this device costs and the kind of parts that make it up, it was never going to be an exceptional portable vaporizer. But we don’t feel that is the point of the Puffit. It is not trying to be the best on the market. Its goal is more to provide a not terrible vaping experience for people who want to be discreet about their vaping.
And it does that wonderfully. This is not the kind of vaporizer that you are going to keep around your house to vape with when no one else is around. It’s the unit you take to concerts, clubs and other places where the eyes of the public are on you and your pockets may be searched. It will pass inspection pretty easily, and you won’t have to worry about your fun being ruined just because someone caught you vaping.
