Put in the plainest form DIY e-juice the same as standard e-juice that you purchase from vendors or merchants. The only difference is; you make it yourself which dramatically cuts down on the cost that some sub-ohm vape users might be experiencing. The most standard DIY e-liquid typically contains four base elements: PG, VG, nicotine, and flavoring. However, not all elements are required.

When you come to start creating your e-liquid, follow some pretty simple guidelines, substituting elements when necessary to meet your requirements. Here’s a breakdown of the basic guidelines:

  1. Finding and understanding the e-liquid recipes
  2. This is where this article will come in hand. Find yourself the simple e juice recipes along with these e-juice recipes you can find ratios and percentages of the elements that are needed to create DIY e-liquid. Once you have found the e-liquid recipe, you will probably have trouble understanding what it means; here are some of the most common abbreviations:

    • TPA: This stands for “The Perfumers Apprentice,” one of the leading flavor manufacturers in the e-juice market. When purchasing flavors from TPA, always ensure it’s listed under “DIY Endeavors.”
    • PG: This stands for “Propylene Glycol,” the most popular base of e-juice. The liquid has less consistency and a much quicker absorption time; making it a popular choice for purer flavor and a larger throat hit.
    • VG: This stands for “Vegetable Glycerin,” the brother of PG. Hosting a strong consistency and slower absorption time this base e-juice is more common amongst users looking for a much larger vapor density.

Usually, a mixture of PG and VG is used in e-juices. Find a ratio that you want to use; it is common for the e-liquid recipes to advertise a ratio. For sub-ohm vaping you may want to use around 70VG/30PG.

To avoid Throat Hit while vaping we recommend you to use Zero Nicotine E-Juices.

  3. Measurements
  4. So by now you should have your e-juice recipes and have a basic understanding of the flavors and elements. However, how much of each should be added?

In the e-liquid recipe, you will find a percentage next to each element; this is the amount of each element that needs to be added. Depending on which e-liquid recipe site is using, it might be displayed differently; use a website with an e-liquid calculator to translate the quantities into something more understandable like drops or ml.

Also you can use an e-juice calculator to get the proper strength and amount of nicotine for the liquid.

  5. Creating your e-juice
  6. This is where the magic happens, it is time to start creating your e-juice. Always ensure you are in a safe and clean environment with the correct safety equipment worn at all times. Typically there are two different mixing methods; by weight and by volume.

    • By Weight: Place the bottle on a set of scales. Using grams begin dripping your flavors into the bottle until you reach your desired percentage.
    • By Volume: If mixing by volume, you will want to have plenty of syringes at hand. Using separate syringes for each flavor begin filling up the bottles using ml as your measurement.

      Hello Kay
I wish I could answer your question but I don’t dare. However, I would like to make a helpful comment that “Steep” is the word your looking for instead of seep, and looking now at the date of the op post well I hope you read it. In September 20th 2020 @10:16 I find myself looking for the best places to buy DIY stuffs to make juice at home.

I use a computer app called E-juice me up which you can use to do the percentages. It calculates and tells you exactly what amount of each is needed to make the juice.
