Bongs have been pretty much the same for a long time. Even e-nails are starting to get old. Is there any way to improve upon bongs? Some say that if something is not broken, do not fix it. Others think there are always ways to improve.
The team behind the Hitoki Trident thought bongs could be improved, so they did it. The result was a bong that used a laser to heat herbs.

What Is the Hitoki Trident?
A laser? That sounds more like something from a science fiction novel, but Hitoki Trident found a way to make it work. The laser is used to start the combustion process instead of an open flame, coils, or anything else.
That is the only real difference between it and traditional bongs and vapes. But, of course, it still has temperature control settings to personalize the vaping experience, and it still uses water to cool and filter the vapor.
Package Contents
Everything needed to start is inside. This includes the device, a silicone hose, poker, and a charger. Not a lot of stuff, but not much else is needed.
Internal Building Quality and Design
The build and design quality are all right. The connection between the hose and the rest of the mod is good, and the airflow is solid. It also seems to be built well. No rattling or leaking from the water well thingy down at the bottom.
The only problem is that the Hitoki Trident is very easy to knock over. An excellent addition to the package would be some stand that keeps it from getting knocked down by accident. It is tall and thin, so it does not have much of a base to it.
Think about it. A group of friends getting high as kites does not usually have the best coordination after several hits. Therefore, it is more likely to get bumped to the ground than not in this situation.
Temperature and Heating Settings
As earlier stated, there are different color-coded temperature settings suitable for all preferences. In addition, the color of the temperature setting glows from the firing button.
Blue is the hottest possible temperature. It is the best setting for herbs infused with oils and concentrates. Remember INFUSED herbs, so please do not try to vape only oils and concentrates from this device.
The next lowest settings are green and red, and those are for herbs only. Green is best for tightly packed herbs, while red is better for loosely packed herbs. The vapor in the green setting is very intense and hot, but in red, it is cooler, and the user can better taste the herbs.
Performance and Vapor Quality
The vapor quality tastes just as good as it does from any other bong, except there is less after-taste from combustion because it uses a laser. But vapor’s flavor mainly depends on the settings. The higher the settings, the more intense the vapor will be, no matter what kind of device is being used. But regardless of the setting, the vapor is excellent.
The quality also depends on the water filtration. That system works great. It filters out the heavy particles and cools the vapor to tolerable levels, even on the blue and red settings.
As for performance, there is nothing to complain about in this sphere. The battery lasts a long time (more on that later), and it does not use much water.
Hitoki Trident Battery
The battery performance is excellent. A vaper can get over 280 hits off this device before recharging it. The only downside to the battery is that it takes almost two hours to charge. But the larger the battery, the longer the charge time.
How to Use the Hitoki Trident
A laser-powered bong might sound intimidating to some, but it is not as hard as some think. Follow these steps to get started:
- Unscrew the base and add water. Be careful not to overfill it.
- Screw the base back on, unlock the combustion chamber, and fill it with dry herbs.
- Use the poker included in the package to pack the herbs. Be careful not to overpack it.
- Reattach the inner locks for the base, or else the laser will not fire.
- Connect the silicone hose.
- Push the firing button five times to turn it on and off
- Hold down the power button to heat the herb or press the button twice to make it fire for nine seconds
- Click the firing button three times to change between settings.
How to Clean the Hitoki Trident
Cleaning is effortless.
- Take the device apart and concentrate on the chamber, water tank, and all adjacent parts.
- The chamber can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.
- Wipe it down, and then rinse it in warm water.
- As for the tank and base, pour isopropyl alcohol down the stem and into the tank and swish it around a little bit. Let the alcohol soak for ten minutes.
- Afterward, remove the stem section and pour out the alcohol.
- Run warm water through the stem and pour it into the tank until both sections are clean.
- As for the silicone water pipe, just run warm water through it every so often.
Competing Products
Hitoki Trident vs. Pulsar Rok
The Pulsar Rok is not a very good device, but it does have a few good features. For one, it can vape pure concentrates, and the Trident cannot.
Another area where the Pulsar Rok excels is stability. It will stand upright without getting knocked over. That cannot be said about the Trident.
Finally, the Pulsar Rok is significantly less expensive than the Trident, even though it is still around $200.
However, the vapor quality is not that great, and the build quality is not very good either.
Overall, the Trident is a better device in every area except standing upright.
Hitoki Trident vs. Focus V Carta V2
The Focus V Carta V2 is a pretty good device, especially in terms of vapor quality. The vapor is very clean and tasty, and it can vape dry herbs and concentrates.
Unfortunately, the Focus V Carta V2 does not perform very well in terms of battery life, and it takes two to three hours to charge. Even though the Hitoki Trident takes a long time to charge, it does not take two or three hours. Its battery also lasts significantly longer than the Focus V Carta V2’s.
However, as with the device mentioned above, the Carta V2 stands up better than the Hitoki Trident.

- Excellent quality vapor
- Does not waste water
- Vapes concentrate infused dry herbs
The Negatives

- Tips over easily
Final Thoughts About This Hitoki Trident Laser Bong Review
This has got it going on. First off, the Hitoki Trident uses a laser vaporizer to heat the herbs. How cool is that? It also has three different temperature settings that produce outstanding vapor. Then there is the fact it does not use and waste a lot of water. Finally, the battery is super efficient, albeit slow to charge.
There are two downsides, though. First, the Hitoki Trident is expensive. It costs $500! Not many people can afford that. Secondly, it tips over very easily. Practical improvements would be a broader base or stand that stabilizes it. Someone who is high and does not know what is going on can easily crash and burn this thing. But, unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about the price.
Overall, this is an excellent bong that brings a new and unique way to vape to the table. If you agree, please leave a comment below and tell us what you think about the Hitoki laser bong.
