The Pillar is a dry herb vaporizer, but the kit comes with a separate wax canister attachment should you wish to vape concentrates. The Pillar is a bulky-looking device of the handy size of 5.08in h, and d 0.94in with various ridges set all along the device, making it easier to hold and grip.
Although the Pillar is made mostly of plastic, it still has a well-built quality to the touch and feel of the device. And for whatever reason, the Pillar’s ease of use doesn’t make it seem cheap or low-performing but was a benefit.

UNBOXING THE PILLAR
Available in black or gold, the Atmos Tyga x Shine Pillar comes in a great funky box. Small, compact, discreet and solid, the box features a simple but strong design, which we really liked. The black device comes in a black box and the golden one in a golden box. We tested the black one.
ATMOS TYGA X SHINE DESIGN, LOOK AND FEEL
The Atmos Pillar is a portable vaporizer in the shape of a pen, a bit thicker than the standard pen-style vapes. It is available in either black or gold, and with a black mouthpiece on each, the Pillar looks funky. The mouthpiece on the top is made of heat-resistant plastic and has a built-in screen. It can be removed simply with a slight twist, to expose the ceramic heating chamber. The ridges ring all around the device help to cool it down and keep it at a temperature comfortable to touch.
VAPE WITH DISCRETION
The standard black design makes it a reasonably discreet vaporizer. It is small, compact and light enough. We could easily hold it, even hide it entirely in our hands. Also, for those who want a full discretion, the LED lights could even be easily covered with our fingers.
A VERY PORTABLE VAPORIZER
The size of the Pillar was to our taste: small enough to carry around, easily in a pocket or a purse for some time. The good quality made it very convenient to carry in a jeans pocket. Overall, we were completely satisfied with the portability of the Pillar. Very comfortable!
Here are the key features that make the Pillar an unusual device:
- Six Temperatures settings
- Heating Chamber
- For Use with Waxy Concentrates or Dry Herb
- High-Capacity Internal Battery – 1300mAh
- Titanium Cup for Concentrates
EASE OF USE
The Pillar is remarkably easy to use. The mouthpiece comes off the reveal the heating chamber, the wax canister attachment just slips right in there and comes out just as easy; the one-button controls are easy to master and there’s no complicated LED display or other things to learn about the Pillar.
The Pillar is great to hold in the hands, with its ridged exterior making it virtually slip-free. It doesn’t overheat as some devices do and it’s scratch-resistant body makes it the perfect mod to take with you everywhere.
The vaporizer contains an embedded ceramic chamber for herbs (with a titanium cup included for concentrates) and a compact, ergonomic grip size. There are air holes on top of the Pillar, used to let the air get into the oven, then the mouthpiece. This is an essential aspect because it keeps the device cool while it is in use, and also ensures a good taste and flavors.
The inside of the Pillar is impressive. Atmos had the brilliant idea to add a sizeable ceramic chamber capable of vaping substantial amounts of dry herb and waxy concentrates. Moreover, that additional volume of material in the expanded chamber made a difference and allowed us to enjoy more extended sessions.
ATMOS PILLAR VAPOR QUALITY
We were delighted with the amount of vapor produced during our sessions, and we enjoyed smooth and powerful vapor, quite unexpected for such a compact device to be honest. The wide mouthpiece frees up airflow and ensures it does not get too hot. The vaporizer kit Atmos Tyga x Shine Pillar includes a titanium concentrate insert for using with wax so that we could get dense, thick and flavorful vapor with low draw resistance, thanks to the open airflow. However, the taste somehow disappeared too quickly, sometimes after 5-6 draws, other times more. It lacked a bit of consistency, which can be really annoying especially if you are picky.
We loved the versatile vaporization the Pillar offers, with six vaping temperatures tailored to suit each vaping style. They range from 340-460 F, and each offered us about 20 draws, which is not bad at all.
The single control button allows to navigate the temperatures easily and select the ideal vaporization temperature, to fit any waxy oil or dry herb. And basically, the Pillar can extract the most flavors, aromas, and effects without causing combustion. The Pillar not only offers the most popular vaping temperatures, but it also let us choose between lower or higher temperatures.
THE BATTERY, A RELIABLE ASSET
The 1300mAh battery is perfect and high enough to combine perfectly with the heating chambers and get the device to offer pleasant vaping sessions. This high-capacity internal battery lasted approximately 2-3 hours after we fully charged it. And actually, charging also took us around 3h.
The Torpedo also features adjustable temperature settings, a wide-mouth chamber and an easy to use interface. The Torpedo is a little less expensive than the Pillar, which makes sense given the quality and work that Mig Vapor puts into all of its devices.
But solely for its value and performance the Torpedo has consistent flavor production and quality build. While the Pillar does perform well it’s high-quality performance justifies a nearly $150 price point.
Comparing the Atmos Tyga x Shine Pillar with the Vicod 5G 2nd Generation Vaporizer many similar features come in common: they heat up quickly, offer a specific (but different) temperature flexibility, a decently durable battery, a user-friendly interface and a quick charging time.
Regarding vapor and flavor Vicod 5G has slight flavors drops. And it cannot beat the Pillar with its six temperatures setting, and its ability to handle concentrates and dry herbs. It literally brings it out of reach.
The idea of combining forces and getting the best technologies from each manufacturer is very promising. The Pillar finally puts Atmos back into my good graces following a few “hiccups” in the past. There other mods and vape pens suffered from poor builds, lackluster components, and short product life. Whatever kinks or adjustment Atmos did, worked, at least in the Pillar.
It is a simple, straightforward device without so many distracting bells and whistles. It came to vape and vaping is what it is good at. It’s easy to load; swapping out the chamber to use for waxes is also uncomplicated and easy and the vapor production for both herbs and waxes was satisfying enough for the Pillar to earn my respect.
