The Arizer Extreme Q is the flagship product of the Arizer brand. It is a desktop vaporizer that has dual inhalation capabilities from both whips and bags. The Extreme Q is a much smaller model than most other stationary vaporizers. It stands at just over 6” tall and is almost 6” wide. It also consists of a solid battery section that features an OLED with remote-controlled capabilities. The internal battery powers the device that has a temperature range between 0C and 260C. The Arizer Extreme Q also features an internal fan with three different speeds to accommodate an assisted draw for more effortless inhalation.

A Closer Look at the Extreme Q

The Arizer Extreme Q is a desktop vaporizer. It features an internal fan and battery that powers the entire device. But the device does not function solely on battery power as it is typically plugged into a wall socket for continuous power. However, the Arizer Extreme Q must be plugged into work as it does not operate only with a charged battery.

The Extreme Q has a shiny exterior made from a high-quality zinc alloy. The unit sits atop a wide base plate to give it more stability and prevent falling over. The base plate also keeps the unit slightly elevated. So that air can come up through the fan located on the bottom of the device.

The Extreme Q is an exclusive convection vaporizer. It heats air to pass through herb material to create an aerosol. This process is helped by the device’s internal fan and the all-ceramic heating element inside the Cyclone chamber. In addition, the Arizer Extreme Q has an LED on the base that shows users the current temperature. Also, its set temperature, which users can control with the four-button control panel or the remote control.

Users can attach different joints to the top of the device to choose how to inhale the vapor. The Extreme Q supports both whip-style inhalation or balloon/bag style, filling a bag with vapor to be inhaled later. In addition, the kit includes the necessary glass joints to affix to the Cyclone chamber to support the bag or whip inhalation.

What’s Inside the Kit

The Extreme Q comes fully equipped with all the necessary parts, and there are many of them. This is because the Arizer Extreme Q requires so many parts to continue running optimally. But it is also because of its versatility that there are so many different parts. Each inhalation style requires a different piece, which explains why it comes fully stocked.

  • 1 x Extreme Q Power Adapter
  • 2 x Interchangeable Extreme Q Glass Whip Mouthpiece
  • 2 x Extreme Q Glass Cyclone Bowls
  • 1 x Extreme Q Glass Aromatherapy Dish
  • 1 x Glass Stirring Tool
  • 1 x Extreme Q 3’ Whip (Silicone)
  • 1 x Extreme Q Elbow Adapter
  • 1 x Extreme Q All-Glass Mini Whip
  • 2 x Extreme Q Balloon with Frosted Glass Mouthpiece
  • 1 x Extreme Q Spare Flat Screen
  • 1 x Extreme Spare Q Dome Screen
  • 1 x Sample Aromatic Botanicals
  • 1 x Extreme Q Owner’s Manual
  • 1 x Remote Control

The Look and Feel

The Extreme Q has a low profile compared to mega vaporizers like the Volcano or the V-Tower’s sister device. The Extreme Q stands at only 6” and is 6” wide, making it somewhat more portable than most desktop vaporizers. The unit is intended to be picked up and carried given its svelte, lightweight profile.

The base plate has several functions as well. It keeps the Arizer Extreme Q from tipping over and allows air to enter the base area where the fan is located. The rest of the unit consists of the LED plate on the front. It provides users with the temperature readout and the ability to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Besides the central unit, the device comes with several borosilicate glass pieces. They make up the inhalation system. Most of the other components are glass, but they are built to last and are not so delicate. The main chamber of the Arizer Extreme Q is aka the Cyclone Bowl. It also fits into the ceramic heating element, and it is a combination of glass and a silicone mouthpiece.

Battery Life

The Extreme Q does not feature an internal battery. Instead, it is connected to an AC power supply plugged into a wall socket. This capability means that users can operate the Arizer Extreme Q without charging the battery or worrying about battery life. The unit can output up to 240V, but that has no bearing on the device’s performance.

Getting Started

Arizer Extreme Q image

The Arizer Extreme Q is not that difficult to get started and can be used right away. No battery charging is required as the Extreme Q works on a power adapter. It plugged into a wall socket for its power options. Users have the option to sterilize the chamber by setting it to the highest temperature and letting it run for a few cycles, but that is optional.

Loading and Vaping

The Arizer Extreme Q uses the Cyclone Bowl as its main material chamber. Users fill the chamber with material and then press-fit it into the heating chamber. This is the first step. After loading the device, users can select from the two different inhalation methods. It is provided by the kit’s components: the whip or the balloon/bag.

These two inhalation styles are common for all stationary vaping devices. They allow users to vape alone (whip-style) or with friends (bags). But they are interchangeable as multiple people can also vape whip-style. There are two separate joints in the kit that support each style.

For whip-style, users should attach the whip joint to the Cyclone Bowl. Then attach the silicone whip to the male side. For balloon/bag, users should affix the appropriate glass joint to the Cyclone Bowl. And then connect the balloon/bag to the male side. The kit includes two of each (2 x whips, 2 x bags) so users can continue vaping if they break or damage one.

After attaching their preferred inhalation style, users can activate the device. Just press the power button. Then, they can set their desired temperature with the control buttons. Or even use the remote control to set their temperature, even if they are in another room. The temperature range for the device is between 0 and 260C.

Users can also set session timers via the control panel. So the Arizer Extreme Q automatically shuts off after a certain period. The desktop vaporizer also features an audio reminder function that lets the user know when it is ready to vape. Once the correct temperature has been set, the device will begin heating, indicated by the solid red light over the Heat icon.

How It Vapes

The Extreme Q has many different features and methods to offer, and it excels in delivering on all of them. There is very little to learn about the vaporizer to begin vaping right away. So users do not have to face a steep learning curve. In addition, the vapor quality is above average as the glass-on-glass vaporization method ensures that the vapor is as pure as it can get.

The Cyclone Bowl is easy to load and secure. The rubber coating on the outer mouthpiece lets users pick up and remove it without getting burnt by the hot glass. In addition, the bowl’s design ensures that vaping material is never in direct contact with the heating element or any other material. So the hot air from the Arizer Extreme Q passes through it.

Attaching all the different joints and components to the device is also straightforward. There is even a mini-whip included in the kit if users are sitting close to the actual device. The glass pieces are all well-made and feel like they are built to last. Both the whip and balloon inhalation methods are easy to carry out.

The fan inside the desktop vaporizer has three different settings (all of which are very quiet and not overly loud). Thus, it is perfect for quickly filling up a balloon with vapor. The fact that everything can be controlled remotely with the remote also makes the device very user-friendly and easy to use. The heat-up is around two minutes, but it is worth waiting, as the machine gives off very smooth, flavorful vapor.

Competing Devices

Volcano

volcano vaporizer review

The Volcano from Storz & Bickel is considered the gold standard among desktop vaporizers. The Volcano uses a hybrid of convection and conduction heating. It uses an internal aluminum heating exchange. It heats the material and pushes hot air through the material chamber. The Volcano also comes with two different display and control styles: an analog, dial-like control. At the same time, the other model features a digital readout and a keypad to input the precise temperature.

Arizer V-Tower

V-Tower

The Arizer V-Tower is another stationary device in the Arizer roster. And it features many of the same characteristics as the Extreme Q, with a few exceptions. The Arizer V-Tower is only a whip-style vaporizer. It does not provide users with the balloon inhalation method. This is because the V-Tower does not come equipped with the fan that the other Arizer model has. The V-Tower still features the ceramic heating element and uses the Cyclone Bowl to heat up the material. But it does so through a hybrid heating method.

Conclusion: Arizer Extreme Review: A Lightweight, Versatile Desktop Vaporizer

Have you ever used an Arizer brand vaporizer? Which model of device do you like the most? Would you get a handheld device or a stationary one? Let us know in the comments below.

The Arizer Extreme Q (the “Q” stands for quiet) is the top-of-the-line stationary device for the Arizer brand. The device offers users an exceptional dry herb vaping experience. It lets users choose between different vaping styles. Also, users need to know that the device does not support concentrates vaping. In addition, the vaporizer has a wide temperature range that can go from more flavor-based vapor to larger vapor clouds.

The inclusion of the fan with three speeds means that drawing from the device is effortless. The fan is more for the bag option, but users can also set the fan to its lowest setting with the whip and bag for easy drawing. The quality and build of the device are also outstanding as it does not take up so much space and is not as heavy as other desktop models.

The fact that the device also comes with remote control makes it ultra-convenient to use. Users do not have to be next to the vaporizer to control it or change the settings. Instead, they can make changes wherever they are and ensure the device is functioning correctly and as they want it.

I ordered one of these units from Walmart last year. When I saw the pathetic 5 watt power supply that came with the unit I was suspicious that it was a POS! Think of how much heat is produced by a 5 watt old style incandescent light; not much. I then checked the accuracy of the actual output temperatures and the temp readings of the digital readout. Actual output temp was far below what the readout stated it was. Set at 300F degrees produced only 180F according to a calibrated laser temp device and also a laboratory calibrated thermocouple; the gold standard of temp measurement. Arizer told me I couldn’t measure the temp; only they could. Sounds like the Emperor’s New Clothes scam.

Recently purchased an Arizer EQ, I feel this unit is amazing! Packing the elbow screen rather than the main bowl, gives sweet thick vapor draws and filling the balloon on low speed (takes around 4 minutes), creates thick creamy vapor, its like holding an actual cloud!! Love the Arizer EQ

I recently got a 2017 Extreme Q and one of the key upgrades they’ve made is to the glass elbows, which are the things that used to break or cause restricted air flow. Both elbows appear to be much heavier/stronger glass compared to my buddy’s, which he purchased in 15. The elbow for balloons is now all glass and of excellent quality. I’ve been both surprised and impressed with Arizer’s improvements. I’d say much less worry and less need to consider the Silversurfer elbows.
