A Closer Look at the Wotofo Gear 2 RTA
The Wotofo Gear 2 comes in two versions. One has a slim, 24mm diameter and can accommodate dual coil builds, while the other versions can only support single coil builds. In addition, the atomizer features a blended plastic and stainless steel construction, making it durable and lightweight.
The exterior build of the atomizer is also see-through. So users can quickly check e-juice levels or the quality of the wicks inside the coil configuration. The top cap is threaded and can be screwed onto the coil deck and removed by unscrewing the integrated drip tip and top cap, which is all one piece.
There are three large fill ports on the top cap so filling the tank is no problem. However, the tank can only take 3.5ml of e-juice. It has a bottom, non-adjustable airflow control ring with three slots lining the side. The vape tank has several different color options but only one e-juice capacity. The interior build deck is accessible by removing the threaded top cap and pushing out the deck from the plastic sleeve that comprises the liquid tank section of the atomizer.

The Look and Feel of the Gear V2
The tank has a lightweight feel and a durable outer shell. It might be nicked and scratched but will probably hold up under heavy use. There is metal-to-metal threading underneath the top cap. It makes good contact with the other piece on top of the build deck. The top cap and drip tip are one piece, so users cannot remove the mouthpiece.
This proprietary drip tip is a wide-bore version and pairs well with the interior airflow vent in the middle of the build deck. The bottom airflow ring has three slots. But it is not adjustable, which is unusual for a modern-day rebuildable atomizer. The rest of the tank has a transparent look and lets users look into the atomizer.
Making Vapor with The Gear V2
There are two large airflow vents along the bottom of the tank. But the ring is non-adjustable, making it challenging to regulate the airflow control. But there are plenty of wide-bore vents, and the almost 4mm interior airflow vent on the build deck makes the atomizer perfect for making clouds.
The deck comprises a postless design with two lead terminals integrated into the deck. You can insert at least two leads into the slots and secure them with the top-secured flat-head screws in each terminal. The build deck also features two large e-juice wells on either side of the coil to increase juice saturation to the coils.
A 0.33ohm Framed Clapton coil in the kit is pre-wrapped. And it needs only to be wicked with either of the two and installed onto the coil deck. Users can also build either single or dual coil configurations onto the build deck and have plenty of space to use larger-than-normal wicks to increase juice saturation and cloud size.
Getting the Gear Started
The Gear design makes it easy to use and start with, even for inexperienced rebuildable atomizer users. The pieces are all easily disassembled and put together again. In addition, they have an intuitive design. It makes it easier to use the atomizer and mount any coil configuration onto the deck.
Users can start by installing the pre-wrapped, Framed Clapton coil in the kit since it was specially designed for the deck. Once the coil is mounted, you can insert a wick with the thickness and long leads you like since the ample juice wells can accommodate almost any wick.
After installing and priming the coil, the next step is to fill the tank. Filling the tank is simple since the atomizer is designed with a top-fill method. You only need to unscrew the top cap to reveal the three fill ports around the deck. The bottom of the tank features a protruding, gold-plated 510-pin, so it is safe for hybrid use and any other similarly threaded 510-mod.
Innokin Ares 2
The Innokin Ares 2 is an RTA that features an updated exterior design. It has a tapered mouthpiece topped with a ULTEM tip to keep your lips from getting burned. The Ares 2 is an MTL and DL-leaning tank that can accommodate both single and dual coil configurations. In addition, the unit has an adjustable airflow control ring with different-sized air holes going from large to small. And it has a bell-style internal chimney that fits over the postless build deck inside.
Geekvape Zeus X RTA
The Geekvape Zeus X RTA is an upgraded version of the famous Zeus RTA. The vape tank features a redesigned top, side-airflow design, and a raised, four-post build deck. It can accommodate both single and dual-coil builds. The Zeus X RTA also features an impeccably-designed, all-stainless steel build. In addition, the RTA features a precision engraving of the Zeus log and gives the tank an extended 4.5ml of e-juice capacity.

Conclusion: Wotofo Gear V2 Review: A Straight-Forward RTA for All Vapers
Are you a fan of the Wotofo tanks? Do you have a preferred style of RTA? Do you like postless or post decks? Let us know in the comments section below.
The Wotofo Gear V2 is not the giant cloud-pusher some RTAs try to be. It has a slimmed-down profile, a 3.5ml e-juice capacity with no extender piece or glass, and a non-adjustable airflow control ring. But these are not defects of the tank. Instead, it makes the device easier to use and less hassle to maintain or clean.
The pieces all fit smoothly into their respective positions. Also, the build deck has an intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes it easy to mount all kinds of coil builds. Of course, the vapor production depends on the style of coil used. But the airflow style, along with the wide–bore mouthpiece, make the tank satisfying on all levels.
