Caught-With-Marijuana-like-‘Spliff’

Following the recent controversy with getting caught smoking in The Metropolitan Museum of Art at The Met Gala, it seems that some celebrities cannot give it a rest.  Khloe Kardashian surely is famous for her modeling career and appearance in the famous show Keeping up with the Kardashians. However, this time Khloe caught the media’s attention by doing a rather dubious thing.

During the filming of an episode for the aforementioned show in Costa Rica, the camera filmed Khloe welcoming her guest with a suspicious object in her hand. Allegedly, as many will agree after seeing the show, the object does appear to look like a joint. Furthermore, this was not the first time. The same thing happened in 2014.  Many media outlets reported Khloe smoking a blunt-like thing in a night club.

Marijuana in Costa Rica is not illegal

The government in Costa Rica decriminalized Cannabis in 2016 for personal use. Of course, this is to the Kardashian’s advantage. The problem unfolds itself with Costa Rica’s law on decriminalization of narcotics. This appears under the name of Law 8204. According to this law, it forbids the selling and production of marijuana on a big scale. Furthermore, one cannot personally carry any amount of it in public. However, the law does not specify the definite quantity of a “small dose”. The law also does not state whether it prohibits the growing of a plant for personal use. Many people wisely use these loopholes in the law as an argument for marijuana activists in Costa Rica.

Does the Kardashian’s Lifestyle Have a Positive Influence?

Millions of people across the world tune in to Keeping up with the Kardashians each episode. A large amount of that audience consist of teens and young adults. As a result, Khloe’s action raises many questions. In fact, a shocking 68.9% of high school seniors in the U.S.A. do not even consider smoking marijuana harmful. This is according to National Institute on Drug Abuse for Teens.

Is Khloe’s apparent possession of marijuana harmful, or harmless? This is important on two counts. First, it is the controversies that surround the Kardashians’ lifestyle. Second, it is their international media reach.

Moreover, should the authorities ban smoking marijuana? Or should they legalize it once and for all? What do you think?

I love the written word, and in my career as a journalist, I strive to provide the facts about everything I write about. There are too many false and alarmist stories out there about life and vaping mainly. My mission is to make e-cigarettes less scary to people with informative articles and extensive research on not only the possible evils of cigarettes and Big Tobacco, but the objective side of e-cigs.
