Dotmod is an American vape maker that traffics in stylish, high-end mods, atomizers, and e-juice. Their main product line features a mix of regulated and unregulated mods. All dotmod devices have elegant flourishes unique to their aesthetic. Touches like gold-plated buttons, or bold, solid colors are all over dotmod's units.
The dotBox comes in two versions, a pared-down, single 18650 unit, and a larger dual-cell dotmod. Apart from the dotBox, the dotSquonk and the dotAIO round out the range of devices offered by dotmod. Dotmod also has a selection of four distinct e-juices, an apparel line, and several other vaping accessories.

Dotmod sought from the beginning to establish themselves as the “gold standard” of elegant, finely-designed vaping products. They formed in 2015 with a vision to bring high-class design and engineering to the vaping world. This dedication to quality and simplicity reveals itself in the unique line of products that dotmod offers.
Their primary line has a total of 51 dotmod products. The line consists of devices like regulated mods (dotMod), squonk (dotSquonk) and mech mods (dotMech, dotBox Dual Mech), along with several types of rebuildable atomizers, as well as a sub-ohm unit, the dotTank.
A separate Limited Edition line features a cubic-zirconia encrusted mech mod called the dotBling, as well as a collection of several devices all based around color, like Green or Space Grey. Dotmod does not shy away from saying their products are suited more to experienced or advanced vapers who deride flash and pomp but appreciate the elegant, high-performance models that they make. Despite this, though, dotmod recently released an AIO dotmod, called the dotAIO (of course) that features all the same exterior elements that dotmod are known for, but in a compact and easy-to-use unit.
The squonk bottle is proprietary and not interchangeable
The dotSquonk is a single-cell, regulated, bottom-feeder mod with a 100W output capacity. It has two removable, aluminum side panels that allow for easy access to the squonk bottle, on one side, and the battery, on the other side. The dotSquonk is unique in that it can work with either a 18650 or a 20700 cell. There is a 18650 adapter inside the device, but it is removable so users can install a 20700 battery.
The dotChip inside the device allows for several vaping outputs, including bypass, power mode, as well as temperature control for nickel, titanium and stainless steel. Users can select their preferred style or adjust their settings via the 0.98inch OLED display on the side. Two, gold-plated selector buttons are hidden behind the plate, instead of being accessible from the outside, make up the rest of the dotmod control panel. The dotSquonk also features a silicone e-juice reservoir that can hold up to 7ml of e-liquid.
The dotmod dotAIO is a pod device made in the image of dotmod’s clean, elegant aesthetic. It uses a single, removable 18650 battery, and a 2ml removable tank. The tank features a plug-and-play coil system, so users need only install any one of the two mesh coils in the kit, rated at either 0.3ohms or 1.6ohms.
The dotAIO also features four variable power levels with the maximum output being 35W. Users can adjust the levels via a single button, hidden beneath the removable aluminum plate where the battery bay sits. The kit also includes a special adapter to insert into the pod to make it compatible with Aspire Nautilus coils.
The dotMTL is a 22mm (0.86 inches) in diameter, a rebuildable atomizer for mouth-to-lungvaping. The dotMTL does not take stock, pre-wrapped coils. Instead, it features a gold-plated, single-post deck for single coil builds. The dotMTL comes in either stainless steel or gold.
The kit also features two interchangeable tank sections, a transparent glass or a solid metal one. Users can secure their coil leads into the 1mm lead openings with the ceramic clamps of the deck. The dotMTL also comes with two 510 drip tips that also act as the top cap to refill the tank. The dotMTL can hold 3ml of e-juice, and its features three adjustable airflow slots.
The dotRDA is a single-coil, 22mm (0.86 inches) diameter atomizer from dotmod. The dotRDA’s build deck features flat, postless design with two lead terminals. Users can use the top-screw hex screws to secure the leads into the deck. The outer cap of the RDA has a flared design at the top, where users can install their 510 drip tip.
The kit includes two top caps made either from solid aluminum or a frosted, acrylic that gives the dotmod added flair. The top caps also come with either a 510 aluminum drip tip or an 8mm ULTEM drip tip for a different draw experience. The base of the deck features 24k gold-plated brass and has two airflow vents that blow directly onto the coils.
Postless deck supports single and dual coil builds
Excellent vapor production
Great juice flow
Small fill holes
The dotRTA Petri is a 24mm (0.9 inches) diameter atomizer with a postless, quad-terminal build deck that supports single and dual-coil builds. The floating deck is plated with 24K gold so that users can trim their coil leads with ease. The entire RTA features solid brass construction with a conical-shaped chimney inside the tank.
The RTA has a removable top cap and drip tip. There are two mouthpieces included in the kit, a solid, acrylic one or a ULTEM drip tip, each of which has a diameter of 11mm (0.43 inches). The tank section is Pyrex glass, while the rest of the unit uses either brass or quadruple gold-plating.
Dotmod is not the only vape company to have an exclusive, short-run line for its most unique creations. But given the unique character of dotmod, whatever they choose to include in their limited edition line is sure to become a classic.
The products in the Limited Edition line vary, and their availability is dependent on whether the dotmod is still in stock. Along with the limited availability of the items in the Limited Edition line comes the higher-than-normal price point for most of the one-run units.
A Bejeweled Mech Mod for the Jet-Set
One-of-a-kind exterior and appearance
Well-made from high-quality materials
Internal copper insulator
The dotmod kit includes pre-wrapped coils
Four-figure price tag
The dotBling mechanical mod is a 24K gold-plated, copper dotmod that takes a single 18650 as its power source. The dotmod also comes covered in 1232 cubic zirconia stones, which is not a first, but it is one of the first to be widely available. The rocks give the dotBling its brilliant, hypnotizing exterior. They also push the price of the dotBling into four-figure territory.
The dotBling is a very limited edition as there are only 200 in existence: 100 gold versions, and 100 silver versions. The dotBling still features all the usual components of a mech mod, including a copper insulator inside the tube. It features a hybrid 510-connection and a PEEK insulator under the firing switch.
Limitless Mech Mod V2 vs. Dotmod Petri Lite
The Limitless mech mod V2 is a single-cell mod that supports both 18650 and 20700 batteries. It features a hybrid 510-connection and a self-adjusting switch that can eliminate any battery rattle. The Dotmod Petri Lite also uses a hybrid 510-connection, but vapers can choose between a “hard” or “light” switch with different degrees of throw.
The Limitless mech mod has an all-stainless steel construction, and it has an outer tube with a matte finish to give the mod a more comfortable grip. The Petri Lite has an anodized aluminum body with navy brass contacts and has a smooth surface with no texture. It only measures 22mm in diameter (0.8”), unlike the V2 that is 26mm in diameter. The switch on the device has six points of contact with the cell so it can direct a lot of power to any attached RDA, while the Dotmod Petri Lite switch uses only a single connection. .
The Dead Rabbit RDA vs. Dotmod RDA 24
The Dead Rabbit RDA is a postless, 24mm in diameter (0.9 inches) atomizer with a quad-terminal design, but it looks nothing like the Dotmod RDA’s innovative, all-brass, gold-plated build-deck that features a single post with a ceramic insulator. The terminals on the Dead Rabbit measure around 2.5mm (0.09 inches) and are gold-plated at least the positive terminals. The rest of the Dead Rabbit atomizer boasts all-stainless steel construction and a PEEK insulator piece under the build deck.
The Dotmod RDA has a dual-terminal configuration as well with the lead holes measuring 1.5mm (0.05”) by 3.9mm (0.15”) on its gold-plated deck. The Dotmod is anodized aluminum on the outside and comes with a 510-squonk pin, as does the Dead Rabbit. The Dead Rabbit, unlike the Dotmod RDA also features two different drip tips, one resin, and the other Delrin, while the Dotmod only has one ULTEM 810 drip tip.
Customer Ratings and Shipping
Dotmod Inc. ships all over the United States, as well as worldwide from their office in San Diego. Shipping costs and time varies on the product and customer location. Dotmod occupies a particular niche in vaping circles, and their products are recognizable just by looking at one. Vapers are generally happy with the design, quality, and performance they get from Dotmod mods and atomizers.
Conclusion: The Final Word on dotmod
Dotmod is proof that quality, elegance, and superior craftsmanship are not difficult to achieve in the vaping world. What other company would hide their adjustment buttons for the sake of making their mods look cleaner and more streamlined?
It’s evident that dotmod prizes style over function, but they can do both pretty well. The dotAIO is a feat of innovation and functioning, while the dotBling is a bold, out-of-this-world attempt to demonstrate what is possible in designing mods, even though its performance is average at best.
Dotmod staked a claim early on to become a stand-alone company in a world cluttered with knock-offs, clones, and mods that all look alike. Their gamble has paid off, as their creations are not only high-performers but cannot be mistaken for any other vape company.
Where do you stand on dotmod’s outrageous, but beautiful creations? Do you think they make good vapes or are they all flash and sizzle? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
