Puffco Plus Review: A Beauty or a Beast?

The new Puffco Plus is a coil-less vape pen that features an all-ceramic atomizer, three temperature options, a sesh mode and offers an amazing vapor quality and taste, thanks to its unique design. In addition, this light and stylish device is very handy, practical, efficient and convenient all at the same time.

We like the Puffco Pluses stainless steel material. It is also compact, light and handy to carry in a pocket or a handbag. It is only available in black, but it is not a problem for us because it really gives a stylish look. When used at the lowest temperature, it creates a less visible vapor to keep it discreet.

What Makes the Puffco Plus Tick?

The Dart – a Unique Feature

The specificity of this model is its mouthpiece, which has a white ceramic piece that sticks down from it called “Dart.” It is located under the mouthpiece and above the heating chamber. For us, the dart is a real winner, because it helps to keep the oil pressed against the ceramic and it also directs the air through the chamber. Additionally, when the vape is in use, it evenly spreads the concentrate towards the sides of the chamber, which makes it maintain a great heating efficiency.

Moreover, since the device uses no coils in the heating element, the whole chamber bottom is distributing the necessary heat evenly and efficiently. They have made the heating chamber of pure ceramic and no plastic pieces, which makes a big difference and produces an amazing vape quality.

The dart can be used as a dabber to easily pick up small wax pieces and load them easily in the chamber. It also helps to keep the wax where it needs to be.

Getting your Puffco Plus On

It only takes a moment to get the Puffco Plus ready. The great thing about this model is that it comes with a loading tool included in the device (the dart). To get started, pull off the mouthpiece to access the chamber, load the ceramic chamber using the dart, then put the dart back over the chamber and put the mouthpiece back on.

Then turn on and off the Puffco Plus, simply press the cloud-shaped button five times. The device has a color led built into the cloud button, which will show the temperature options.

Next, when finished, simply click the power button another five times to switch the device off. We found everything to be really simple and easy to use. Having a straightforward device like this was really nice. Truly a piece of cake!

Sesh Mode Feature

The Sesh mode will allow you to enjoy longer draws. It features a 12-second heating time for the pen to get to temperature. You can activate it by double-clicking the power button and it will maintain an even heat. Then pressing the button once will exit the mode. The device automatically shuts off after 8 seconds, if it’s not used on Sesh Mode.

You can also use Sesh mode for cleaning the device! Remove the mouthpiece after running Sesh mode then holding the pen upside down and give it a quick shake, and residue should start to fall out. Then just use the swabs to clean it in to make sure you clean the air chamber to prevent from clogging.

This mode for myself was interesting, and I personally like having longer draws. Also, with the ability to use it to help in the cleaning process, it is definitely a feature on the device they can call a win.

Battery Life

The Puffco Plus is easy to charge but can be a bit of a hassle, since you need to unscrew the device then plug the USB charger. The charger’s light will turn red when the battery is low and charging, and green when charged fully. Once completely charged, it will automatically turn off the battery.

The battery life is reasonable with around 50 hits, and also features a safety shut off after 8 seconds when the vape is not in sesh mode.

Keeping It Clean

Cleaning is very easy and quick. Activate the Sesh Mode and unscrew the mouthpiece once the chamber is warm. It is advised to use a paper towel and insert it into the chamber. Then wipe the chamber and remove any remaining product you find inside.

Also, wipe the Dart, and feel free to clean the gold connector pins that are above the battery and at the chamber bottom, to ensure a good connection. However, note that using alcohol to clean the device (dart and chamber especially) is NOT recommended.

Quick Glance at the Puffco Plus vs. Puffco Pro 2

The Pro 2 and the Plus come from the same family: PuffCo. It is a trusted and well-known brand, so no doubt about the quality in general. Both vaporizers offer various options. We like the slim, discreet and attractive Pro 2. The Plus is bigger, but more solid and with a larger chamber.

In terms of features, both models share a convenient ‘Shesh Mode’ option. The Pro 2 has a single button to control everything, so easy to use. However, the Plus features a coil-less ceramic heating chamber that makes a significant difference in taste and flavors. Not easy to pick our favorite between both, but we have a slight preference for the Pro 2.

We love it! The device is outstanding. It is very convenient and offers quality for a decent price. We really like the style, it is light and handy to carry and comes with a fairly limited amount of material. This new baby from the Puffco company is easy to maintain and to understand. Its unique system and layout produce a great quality vapor every time. Easy to charge, load, use and clean, vaping has never been easier, so don’t wait!
