DNA mods are very popular, but no DNA mod came with an IP68 rating. This mod is the first to incorporate this feature, making it an excellent purchase for people who want something sturdy and dependable.

Additionally, it is loaded with several fantastic features that significantly improve the vaping experience over similar box mods. Finally, it is not called the “Scutum 100C” or “Scrotum” as some people were calling it.

Lost Vape Hyperion DNA 100C Box Mod Review

The Hyperion DNA 100C box mod has all of the elegance of its predecessors while adding military-grade protection that makes it highly resistant to the elements.

In addition, it is a powerful 100-watt mod fully capable of working in tandem with different tanks to produce high amounts of flavor and vapor.

Internal Build Quality and Design

The superior build and design is the primary reason to buy this device. In addition, its silicone covering gives it added protection against dust, water, and impact.

This vape is perfect for teamsters, tradesmen, and other professionals working in extreme environments, given the added silicone covering. Furthermore, the large firing and adjustment buttons make the vape very easy to use.

Despite being built like a tank, this vape has a very pleasant appearance. It is ergonomically designed to fit the hand, and it has a cushioned grip for added comfort. Also, the branding is not overly excessive.

Battery

The device can use 21700 or 20700 batteries, or it can be used with a single 18650 if the battery adapter is used. There is a battery door with highly visible venting that gives the battery and the rest of the device protection from overheating.

Hyperion DNA 100C Battery

The door screws in and out and is easy to take off or put back on. However, the battery door is slightly raised, so making the mod stand right side up is difficult.

Battery Level Indicator

The battery life is shown at the top of the screen in the form of a percentage and a bar.

Plus, the screen shows wattage output, and it also has date and time settings and all the standard information usually displayed on a screen.

How to Use the Hyperion DNA 100C Mod

This device is not as hard to use as some people might think. One of the unique things about this device is the menu button in the center that decreases the number of button combinations you need to memorize. Instead, click it and then cycle through all the different settings using the adjustment buttons.

The device should be used with 510 atomizers up to 30 mm in diameter. It will be a perfect fit. Just stick between the recommended resistance range of 0.1 to 3.0 ohm, and only use nickel, titanium, SS316, KA1, Ni80, and Ni90 coils. Everything should be fine with the mod if you follow those recommendations.

Another thing to recommend is not to screw down the battery door too tight. It may be tempting to do because you might think it is cross-threaded or that you did not screw it down enough. That is not the case. The problem is that the metal is raised. If tightened too much, the handle coils break, or the door could get stuck.

Button Operation

  • Click once to turn the screen on without firing the mod
  • Click five times to turn it on and off
  • Click the button between the adjustment buttons to enter the menu
  • Use the adjustment buttons to increase the wattage in 0.5 increments or cycle through the menu

Competing Products

Hyperion DNA 100C vs. Lost Vape Therion DNA

Lost Vape Therion

  • The Therion is a high-end device that uses two 18650s instead of a single battery as the Hyperion does.
  • Its ability to use two batteries may give it an advantage over Hyperion in terms of battery life.
  • However, the Hyperion is a 100-watt mod while the Therion is a 75-watt mod.
  • Also, the Hyperion is much better in terms of build quality because of its IP68 rating.

Hyperion DNA 100C vs. Hotcig DX75

Hotcig DX75

  • Hotcig’s advantage is that it uses a 26650 battery that gives it a significant advantage in terms of battery life.
  • However, like the Therion, it is a 75-watt mod, and it does not have an IP68 rating.
  • Therefore, people who want 25 more watts and something that can hold up in extreme conditions will prefer the Hyperion over the Hotcig.

Pros&Cons

The Positives

  • Water, shock, and dust resistant
  • Several power modes
  • Easy to navigate the screen
  • Ergonomic and portable

The Negatives

  • The battery door is not flush with the mod
  • Expensive

Final Thoughts

This mod is excellent, but there are a few cons as always. First, the battery door is not flush with the bottom of the mod, which shows an extreme lack of attention to detail. Another problem is that the mod is very expensive at around $150. Combined with the atomizer, that is upwards of $200, which is a lot of money to spend.

However, if you have more than $150 on hand, this is not a bad vape to have. It has an incredibly solid build quality, and it is very ergonomic and portable. Plus, it has an easy-to-navigate screen and several power modes, including memory mode.

If you have used this vape, please let us know what you think about it, and also tell us what atomizer you like using with it.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
