Joyetech themselves describe the Espion as having a sense of “business style”. In other words, this is a vape mod for grown-ups that want the mod to blend in with their professional attire. Every type of mod style has its place and each makes a statement about the vaper. In this case, it says that they enjoy a great vape and look professional while doing so.
Besides the fact the Espion would not look out of place in a boardroom meeting, it also vapes professionally as well. In the name of versatility, lots of small details were thought through when engineering this 200W mod. For example, the centered stainless steel gold plated spring loaded 510 connection allows for multiple types of atomizers to work flawlessly.
Variable wattage, TCR and temperature control and an easy to navigate menu all add up to a vape experience that stands out from the crowd.

High-Quality Engineering

With safety in mind, the Espion is made with variable wattage. The device will stop firing automatically if it starts to overheat. There is even dual-circuit protection to protect the device from overcharging.

For more user control, temperature control is also featured which can use stainless steel, nickel, and titanium coils. These can be chosen on the menu.
Filling is easy and clean thanks to the flip open top filling design. Also easy is accessing the different vape modes. There is a dedicated button which cycles through the vape settings. The sliding cap makes it very easy to fill without making a mess or misplacing the mouthpiece.

How does It Vape?

The Espion comes with the Pro C1 0.4 ohm and the ProC1-S 0.25 ohm coil heads. The 0.4 works best vaping between 40 and 80 Watts and the 0.25 is rated for between 25 and 55W. Keeping this in mind will give off a vapor with accurate flavors and thick, milky clouds when using the 0.4 and the 0.25 is ideal for very smooth mouth to lung vaping.
With either coils, vapers can adjust airflow to dial in on the perfect airiness according to their preferences.

Since so many other atomizers can be used, the fact that it can reach 200W will give every vaper exactly what they are looking for in a mod

Is the Espion Safe to Use?

Many times when something goes wrong with a vaporizer, it can be chalked up to user error. Putting the batteries in wrong, overcharging and not updating the software. To prevent these issues from ever occurring, Joyetech added safety features such as two sets of circuits to avoid over-charging, over-discharging and over-current. There are frequent upgrades to the software that keeps the chipset up to date and working as it should.

In case a user puts the batteries in reverse, there is reverse polarity protection that prevents any damage.

They have even introduced buck-boost technology, which maintains a steady output of power. This is more to keep the vape session accurate, but also avoids any failures due to over-current.

How does Joyetech Espion ProCore X Compare to the Competition?

Smoant Cylon x2

Advanced features but is a bit heavy and large. It is only for use with 18650 batteries not 20700.

This is a very elegant mod, but it has a somewhat slow to respond fire button.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
