The Asmodus Lustro is a box mod vape that incorporates many eye-catching features, such as a motion sensor, and a flashlight. With its GX-200-HUT chipset, the mod can power up to 200W, and it is compatible with coils made of stainless steel, titanium, and a variety of other materials.

Various vaping settings can be used, including power and wattage mode, as well as curve, TFR, and TCR modes. Also, powered by dual 18650 batteries, the Lustro can be depended on to work a long time before needing to be recharged.

Asmodus Lustro 200W TC Box Mod Review

The centerpiece of the Lustro is Admodus’s GX-200-HUT chipset. This chipset allows the box mod to achieve a wattage range of 5 to 200W while it is in power mode. In temperature control mode, the Lustro has a 5 to 120-watt range. It is not clear why Asmodus limited the wattage range for temperature control mode, but at least the user can get high wattages in power mode. Perhaps a future firmware update will allow for high wattages in temperature control mode.

Temperature control mode is compatible with nickel, titanium, and stainless steel coils. The stainless steel options are extensive, allowing the user to select between SS304, SS316, and SS317. TFR, TCR, wattage curve, and three preheating settings are also available.

The Lustro can be depended on to perform at an exceptionally high level. The mod hits every single watt on the 200W range without spit-back or dry hits, producing bursts of puffy clouds and excellent flavor. Each time the Lustro is turned on, it fires almost instantly, and it is highly accurate in every mode.

The Lustro has problems with the motion sensor, and it has features most people do not need. However, those who look past these imperfections are in for a treat.

Unboxing the Starter Kit

The Lustro is an excellent box mod with a wide wattage range, and several modes that work well with many coils. The starter kit comes with the box mod, but it does not come with batteries. The starter kit contains a battery safety card, a USB type C cable, a user manual, and a warranty card.

Internal Build Quality and Design

The Lustro is a weighty box mod once the batteries are inserted, but it does not feel uncomfortable to hold. The vape has rounded edges that do not cut into the palms, and it is not so heavy that it is cumbersome.

The only area of concern is the 510 pin, which is not centered. Instead, it is located toward the front of the mod. If the pin were centered, it would be able to fit larger atomizers.

Battery Door and Efficiency

Two 18650 batteries power the Lustro, and the battery life is more than adequate. A Lustro can operate for at least a day if used at medium wattages. The battery door is held together by powerful magnets, so there is almost no chance of the 18650s falling out.

There is a battery strap included in the bay, but the batteries are easy to take out, so there should be no need to use it. When new batteries are inserted into the box mod, the menu will ask the user if they are married. Some will no doubt find this annoying, but it prevents accidents from occurring.

Asmodus Lustro 200W Problems and Getting Around Them

To adjust the wattage of the vape, unlock the touch screen by swiping down on the screen. Then, touch the wattage and press the plus and minus icons. Once the desired wattage is selected, press the firing button once to return to the main menu.

Switch between vape modes by unlocking the touch screen and then swiping left and right across the screen. Power, temp, curve, TCR, and TFR options will be displayed. Hold the temp icon for two seconds while in TC mode to select a wire type. Next, choose between stainless steel, nickel, and titanium.

Some of the features incorporated into this box mod can be difficult to use. One of these features is the motion sensor, which is used for making adjustments to the settings of the vape. The motion sensor on the vape is an interesting concept, in theory; unfortunately, it is not as responsive as the manufacturers hoped it would be. Thankfully, it can be turned off. Once the motion sensor is off, the Lustro can be used the same as any other mod.

There is also a small LED flashlight installed on the box mod, which is a nice touch, but not necessary. To activate it, lock the touch screen, swipe up, and then touch the flashlight button to enter the flashlight menu. Next, select between turning on one or two LEDs.

The Lusto has a light bar built into the front left side of the mod, and its colors can be changed to red, green, or blue. It can also be turned off. Changing these colors also changes the color of the firing button. Some do not like the colors, which is understandable when considering that many users want to be discreet when vaping. But, they are fun to turn on in private because they give the mod a bright and colorful appearance.

Vape Menu Instructions

Mastering the menu functions of a box mod might seem complicated, but this is not the case with the Lustro. Enter the menu by swiping up on the touch screen. Doing this unlocks the screen.

Once the screen is unlocked, select which settings are to be adjusted by swiping left or right. The user can change the ohm settings, firmware version, and several other things. Turn off the mod by clicking the firing button five times. Clicking five times in rapid succession brings up the power button. Press it to turn off the box mod.

Does the Asmodus Lustro 200W Have Bypass Mode?

Unfortunately, Lustro mods do not have bypass mode. This is a huge disadvantage because not having bypass mode decreases vaping time immensely. Hopefully, bypass mode will be included in the next Asmodus Lustro firmware update.

Competing Products

GTRS Vboy 200W vs the Asmodus Lustro 200W

The GTRS Vboy is a spectacular box mod that bears many similarities to the Lustro. They both fire up to 200W, and they have a vibrant look to them that a lot of mods do not have. The main difference between these two products is that the Vboy 200W is not an over-designed vape with features it does not need.

Another difference is that the Vboy 200W has five memory modes for saving power output settings. A final point of variation between these box mods is that the Vboy is slightly more comfortable vape to hold thanks to its padded, rubberized grip.

Asmodus Lustro 200W vs VooPoo Drag

Both of these box mods produce excellent flavor and vapor, they have a wide range of wattages from which to choose, and they both look excellent appearance-wise. However, it is hard to beat the colorful panels on the VooPoo Drag. But, the Lustro can fire to much higher wattage levels than the VooPoo Drag’s 157 watts.

Another edge the Lustro has over the VooPoo Drag is that it is a few dollars cheaper. The VooPoo Drag does have its advantages, but of the two products, the Lustro is a better mod for high wattage vaping.

Last Word on the Asmodus Lustro 200W Vape Mod

The Asmodus Lustra 200W has a lot of things going for it. For one, the battery life is phenomenal, considering 18650s power the mod. Another reason to consider buying this box mod is that it hits smooth each time without missing a beat. Finally, this box mod is selling for a reasonable price that most people should be able to afford.

The only drawback to the Lustro box mod is that the designers incorporated too many features, such as the flashlight and the motion sensor. While the new features on these mods are impressive and some people might like them, the majority of vapers will probably never use them. Thankfully these extras are not essential to the operation of the mod.
