VaporFi Pulse Starter Kit: First Impressions

Design

The VaporFi Pulse Starter Kit has two eGo-style batteries with 750mAh each. The device is sleek and has a small LED window near the bottom, which displays the number of puffs taken. The tank fits well with the device and is capable of storing up to 2.5ml of e-liquid, enough to last a few hours of vaping. There is also a circular charger where the batteries can be charged without wires. The charger itself needs to be plugged into a USB-powered port.

Build Quality

The build quality of the batteries and the circular charger are good. The batteries are solid and don’t rattle when shaken. The charger is equally well-made and looks like it could last a long time. Overall, nothing bad could be said about the build quality of the package.

What’s in the Box

Included in every kit are two 750mAh batteries, two clearomizers, one USB charging cord, one wall adapter, one circular wireless charger, and a user manual.

Usability

The Pulse is a simple device to operate. Charging is done via the circular charger, which takes about two hours to fully charge the e-cig. The tank is refilled by removing the top coil and pouring e-liquid down the sides of the tank. Alternatively, users can also refill without removing the top by filling through a small gap on the side of the tank.

There is a button on the side of the battery that needs to be pressed in order to produce vapor. There is also a puff counter, which counts the number of puffs you have taken. This can be reset by holding down the fire button for about 10 seconds. The counter also resets once it reaches 999, whereupon it goes back down to zero.

Vapor Production and Performance

For an eGo-style device, vapor production is good. Flavors are clean and crisp, and cloud density is decent. Overall, the performance of the device is good for beginners; however, since the unit’s power output is set at 3.7 volts, similar to basic vape pens and cig-a-likes, users looking for more power will be disappointed.

Battery Life and Atomizers

The 750mAh batteries for the Pulse perform well, lasting about a day of heavy usage. For casual vapers, battery life can extend up to two or more days.

The clearomizers, or tanks, that come with the Pulse produce great flavor and decent vapor. Even better, the coils are replaceable. So when the old one burns out, simply replace it with a new one. Extra coils are sold at $14.99 for packs of five. Take note that only those designed for the Pulse tank, with top coils, will work.

VaporFi Pulse Starter Kit Review Additional Details

The VaporFi Pulse Starter Kit is perfect for beginners who are looking for a simple device, yet one that is an upgrade over vape pens and cig-a-likes. The puff counter is a novel feature. For the obsessed, it may have some use, but overall, it’s just a gimmick.

For users who are looking for more power and customization, the Pulse falls short. Set at just 3.7 volts, with a basic clearomizer, the Pulse is best for those who just want a simple setup that works. For a little more cash, the VaporFi Rocket Starter Kit is a better buy for those needing full customization.

There are many, better performing devices out there, but the Pulse has a few unique features that may entice buyers to get one. The wireless charging and puff counter are rarely seen in other devices, so these can be a plus. If you need a simple, single output device and are attracted to the unique charger and puff counter, then the Pulse is worth getting.
