The Wotofo Manik Mini kit is an open pod system that integrates a 1000mAh battery with an auto-draw design and a 3ml pod. The Manik Mini has a maximum power output of 30W. The vape is one of the few pod devices that allows users variable voltage control. The Wotofo Manik kit employs a 0.69″ side-OLED to allow users customizable wattage in between 1W-30W. The design of the pod and the vape are suited to mouth-to-lung vaping with compatible nicotine salts e-liquids. The pod, mouthpiece, and coil are all integrated, with the mouthpiece shaped like a duckbill. The entire vape has a slim design as it comes in at less than 100mm in length. The exterior design is also unique with its leather elements and a sturdy, lightweight zinc alloy base. The Wotofo Mini kit is draw-activated, and the chipset inside allows it a super-fast firing speed.

A Closer Look at the Manik Mini Kit

The Wotofo Manik Mini kit is a unique pod system that features draw-activation but with precision variable wattage control. Even with this feature, the control panel consists of a single button to control everything about the vape pod, except the draw-activated firing. The side screen displays such information as coil resistance, wattage, puff counter, and cell life.

The vape also stands out for its exterior design. The interior zinc alloy shell comes with leather padding on the front and back panel, while the sides are finer-edge and have metal corners. The single button is embedded into the screen and located at the bottom. The Type-C USB port is located on the bottom edge of the vape. The leather panels have stitching resembling those on a baseball or football.

Apart from being a stylish element, the leather panels also make the vape comfortable to hold and act as a protective barrier against any drops or falls. The top section is users must install the accompanying 3ml pod. There are a few airflow holes cut into the sides of the pod bay. The Wotofo vape does not have a dedicated airflow adjustment mechanism, so users must either cover the holes to change the draw-style.

Kit Contents

The Wotofo Manik Mini is a small vape, but it comes with several different accessories types in the kit. Users can find many extras like replacement pods and coils, the charging cable, and the user manual.

  • One x MANIK MINI Pod System
  • One x 0.6ohm M11 Parallel Coil Pod
  • One x 0.6ohm M12 nexM Coil Pod
  • One x User Manual
  • One x Charging Cable

The Look and Feel

The Wotofo Manik Mini has a very comfortable, ergonomic design. The leather panels give the vape pod incredible comfort when holding. The leather is smooth and soft, but it is still strong enough to act as a cushion for the device’s internal components. The rest of the vape also feels solidly built, including the side-OLED.

The Wotofo vape kit is also lightweight, as the leather panels do not add too much heft to the device’s overall feel. The Wotofo Manik Mini kit only comes with a single button, which is embedded in the OLED. The single-button operation means the vape pod is free of other control panel options and has a clean, uncluttered look.

How Long It Lasts

The Manik Mini comes with an internal 1000mAh, which is more than enough battery capacity to last a full day. The variable wattage settings allow users to vape at low wattages or as high as 30W, but even vaping at the maximum on the Manik Mini will not drain the cell so fast, especially with a 1000mAh capacity.

The cell life also depends on the type of coil that sits in the pod. The Wotofo Mini kit comes with two replacement 0.6ohm coils, but they have different designs, so they have other power requirements. One coil features a parallel structure that is best vaped between 18-22W, while the second coil is mesh and vapes best between 15-18W.

Those wattage ranges are best for the Wotofo Manik’s power range of between 1-30W, so users can choose which power setting works best for them and does not drain the battery quickly.

Pod Design and Performance

The Manik vape pod comes with two distinct pods with two coil types inside. The coils are non-removable and are integrated into the unit, along with the duck-bill-style mouthpiece. The pod is one unit, and it attaches to the battery section via a magnetic connection. The Wotofo Manik Mini kit is entirely sealed off except for the fill port, located on the side and stopped with a rubber tab.

Having a non-removable coil may seem like an inconvenience, but the pod being a single piece that means there is absolutely no leakage. There was no such leakage – even moisture – after several weeks of usage on or around the pod. The contacts with the battery worked every day, and the pods always stayed securely in place.

The mouthpiece end has a small-bore hole in the center of the vape. This mouthpiece design gives the mouthpiece a best mouth-to-lung feel, as a thinner mouthpiece would have given off a different type of vapor cloud. The device’s sides’ airflow holes do not add or take away much from vapor quality, as the draw resistance is pretty mellow.

How It Vapes

The Manik Mini kit has the best straightforward operation style that makes it easy to get started. Users have to press the single button five times to activate the battery. However, the vape users draw-activation after, so users do not have to keep pushing the button and can just take a draw whenever they want.

The precision wattage control also gives the users a lot of choices when vaping. The low wattage ranges of the two coils mean that the vape is not known to produce massive clouds but is more directed toward a subtler, mouth-to-lung cloud that is bursting with flavor. The mix of using sub-ohm coils (0.6ohms, in this case) with low wattage ranges and different coil types, though, means users get a little bit of everything.

The single-button on the side-OLED has its advantages and disadvantages. The screen is a good-enough size and is not too small to see or read the information, but it is tedious and time-consuming to do everything with only one button. If Wotofo wanted to make things easier, they should have gone the other way and given users another button for the control panel.

The Competition

SMOK Nord X

The SMOK Nord X kit is an improvement over the previous Nord devices as it comes with an internal 1500mAh battery that can output as high as 60W. The Nord X is more powerful than the Manik Mini, and it uses a larger pod and a 6ml pod. The pod comes with several coil types and is also compatible with coils from other brands like the RPM pod, also from SMOK.

SMOK Nord X

The Nord X also uses one-button control and features an air-activation system similar to the Manik Mini. The Nord X also has the same airflow vents on either side of the pod bay, also like the Wotofo vape. The Nord X also has a side-screen but with two-button control instead of only one.

Uwell Caliburn

The Caliburn became the standard for open-pod systems when it first came out. The Caliburn is a slighter vape than either the Manik or the Nord X as it has a slim build and is larger than either the Manik or the Nord X. The Caliburn kit comes with replaceable coils, and its pod can hold only 2ml of e-liquid. The battery is also half the capacity of the other two devices as it stands at only 520mAh.

The Uwell Caliburn is air-activated, but the button also gives it button-activation. It has no screen and works on direct voltage output, which can get as high as 11W. The pod uses a 1.4ohm coil, and it has a convenient top-fill method where users must remove the mouthpiece to fill the pod.

Conclusion: Wotofo Manik Mini Review: Precision Wattage Control in a Pod

Do you use pod systems? Do you prefer air-activated pod devices or button-activated pods? Do you like direct voltage output or precision wattage control? Let us know in the comments section below.
The Wotofo Manik Mini kit is a worthy entry into the world of mid-range pod devices. It has a healthy battery capacity, and its wattage range is not often seen on pod devices. The Nord X has bigger everything, but the Wotofo device can also hold its own in its class. The vape kit has an easy setup and is very straightforward to use.

The Wotofo vape does not have Type-C charging but uses a simple USB port. This design means the battery can take up to an hour to charge, but it does feature pass-through charging, so the vape can still be used. The side OLED is very well-designed, and reading the information is easy and hassle-free. The single-button operation can be tedious, but if you find your right mixture of settings, then you can just leave it and start vaping.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
