The Vaporesso Degree is a vape mod kit with a built-in battery that is designed to last a long time between recharges, and it charges quickly.

It has two different pods in the kit of varying resistance levels, both of which provide for a satisfying vaping experience. Additionally, the pods come with airflow control dials that allow for airy and tight draws.

The flavor is highly satisfactory, and the pods can last a long time before they need to be replaced. It is also portable, and the panels are available in many unique designs.

Vaporesso Degree’s Outstanding Features and Characteristics

The Vaporesso Degree Kit desktop

The Vaporesso Degree contains the latest Axon chipset that has several key features:

  • Temperature control mode
  • Pulse mode that enables constant hit with every puff
  • Eco power mode
  • Easy to understand user interface

Vaporesso equiped 2 of their mods with it: Gen box mod and Degree vape. Unlike the Vaporesso Gen, Degree has no menu and fewer modes, but the chip enables the vape to fire almost instantly. Also, it boosts the wattage every split second to bring more satisfying clouds with every draw.

The pods can hold up to 2 ml of e-liquid. Also, the pods are transparent, so it is easy to monitor the juice levels. The Vaporesso Degree can generate up to 30 watts, but the pods can only handle 12.5 or 22 watts depending on the pod being used.

You can check the wattage level by looking at the 0.69 inch OLED display screen. The reason why the pods have this limitation is that it helps to avoid damage to the coil and wicking.

There is also dry-hit protection and auto temperature control technology that prevents the coils from getting hot when they are dry. There is an adjustable airflow ring located on the drip tip that can allow for tight or airy draws.

The Vaporesso Degree uses a 950mah battery, which provides for plenty of vaping time. The battery lasts one to two days, depending on how often the vape is used. The screen has an indicator that says when the vape needs to be recharged — the battery charges in just over an hour.

Appearance-wise, it looks like other vape mod kits. The panels come in several colors, including lava, red, and silver. It is hand-sized and is not too heavy, but not too light either. Vapers will know that they have something in their hands when they pick it up.

What Comes in the Vaporesso Degree Kit?

The kit comes with:

  • the vape and two pods (0.6-ohm mesh and 1.3-ohm C-Cell),
  • a 110 ml refill bottle for the e-liquid,
  • a USB cable for charging,
  • a warranty card,
  • user guide,
  • and a reminder card are also in the package.

Internal Building Quality and Design

The Vaporesso Degree kit is a well-designed vape constructed from zinc alloy. It is shaped like a rectangle and measures 90.5 mm X 41.5 mm X 16.5 mm.

The back panel comes off, and it is held in place with three magnets. Unfortunately, the magnets do not hold the panel to the chassis very well.

While the pod itself does not leak, there is a small issue with the liquid accumulating around the refill port. To get around this, take the pod out before refilling it, or just clean the fill port every other day. Also, while this is not a design flaw, it would be nice if they would create a pod with replaceable coils.

Other than those small issues, there are no severe design flaws, rattling, or any other problems. Just be careful with the door and clean the fill port.

Vaporesso Degree Battery

The 950mah battery is built into the vape, and it has excellent usage time. Using the 1.3-ohm atomizer, the user can get two days or more out of the vape while the 0.6-ohm pod lasts from a day to a day and a half.

It takes an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes for it to charge. The longevity of the battery increases the portability substantially since it can be used for one or two days, making it suitable for people who work outdoors or who like to spend a lot of time doing outdoor activities.

Vaporesso Degree Replacement Pods

The Vaporesso Degree uses a 0.6-ohm mesh and a 1.3-ohm C-Cell cartridges.

  • The 0.6-ohm pod is rated for 16 to 22 watts,
  • and the 1.3-ohm pod is suitable for 7.0 to 12.5 watts.

The chipset automatically defaults to the wattage limit of the pod when it is put onto the vape. The chipset does not allow the user to go higher than the wattage limit of the pod. Vaporesso should design a pod that can tolerate higher wattages.

Both pods hold up to 2 ml of e-liquid, and both are made of clear plastic, making it easy to check the juice levels.

How to fill/refill the Pod

The pods are refilled using a push-to-fill system.

  1. Use the nozzle to push down the fill port.
  2. Once the port is pushed down, it can be topped off.
  3. To take the pod out, remove the cover and pull the ribbon beneath the pod.
  4. The pod pops in and out.

It does not have to be removed to be refilled.

How Long do the Pods Last?

Vaporesso Degree coils cannot be replaced. When they burn out, the entire pod has to be replaced.

The coils last one to two weeks, depending on the frequency of usage. The pods cannot be hacked, and considering the price, it is not even worth trying. People who want pods that support replaceable coils should look at other kits.

How to Use the Vaporesso Degree Cartridge and Battery

This vape is easy to use, like most vape vape mods – take the vape out, and charge it up.

The charging port is located beneath the two adjustment buttons at the bottom.

  • Once the vape is fully charged, put the pod in the mod and fill it by pushing the nozzle of the bottle into the fill port.
  • Allow ten minutes for the coils to absorb the e-juice.
  • Once the coils are primed, click the firing button five times in rapid succession to activate the vape.
  • Allow a few seconds for the chipset to scan the resistance of the coil.
  • Use the adjustment buttons to change the wattage.
  • Pressing both adjustment buttons simultaneously resets the puff counter.
  • Pressing the down button and firing button brings up the brightness level.
  • Use the adjustments to increase or decrease the brightness.
  • Clicking the firing button three times locks the vape.

The drip tip has an airflow adjustment dial that can allow for DTL and MTL hits. Both pods have identical airflow.

The draw is very good when the airflow adjustment is open. Open airflow is better on the 0.6-ohm pod (allowing to test sub-ohm capabilities of the device) , while a tighter setting is more suited for the 1.3-ohm pods. Regular e-juice and nicotine salts go well with every airflow setting.

Instructions for Vaping

To vape the Vaporesso Degree, hold down the firing button and take a deep inhale.

Start off on the lowest possible wattage setting, and increase the wattage level gradually until the desired flavor is obtained.

A few hints to get the most of your vape:

  • Vaping on lower wattages will increase the battery life.
  • To maintain the quality of the vapor, change the pods every one to two weeks.
  • Discard the old pod. Using it longer than intended will result in a burnt flavor or damage to the vape.

Vaping Experience

The amount of vapor and its density is excellent, and the flavor is outstanding. Once a draw is taken, the user can exhale a huge, puffy grey-white cloud that will blow the person next to him or her away.

Using the 0.6-ohm pods will result in slightly more vapor. As for flavor, it is great no matter which is chosen. Using the 0.6-ohm coil will result in a solid and hot hit, but the other pod can really bring out the flavor, too; it is just not as intense.

Since battery life is top-notch, no matter which pod is used, the flavor and vapor can be enjoyed all day. This feature is especially useful for people who know they will be away from a wall charger for a long time.

All of the flavors were good, no matter if regular or salt nicotine was in the pod. But, of all the flavors, strawberry salt nicotine was the best. It was sweet and delicious, almost like a strawberry smoothie or candy.

What Could Compete With Degree?

Vaporesso Degree vs. Caliburn

The Caliburn is an 11-watt pod mod system, and it is more ergonomic than the Vaporesso Degree, having rounded edges instead of sharp ones. It has a 520 mah battery that can last a while, but it is not half as powerful as the Degree’s 950mah battery.

The battery usually needs to be recharged after two or three refills, and it takes 45 minutes to charge. The refillable pods hold 2 ml of e-juice, and the device is draw activated. For a pod mod, the Caliburn has excellent vapor production, and it has a nice and restrictive draw.

Vaporesso Degree vs. LostVape Quest Orion

The LostVape Quest Orion has a 950mah battery that can last one to two days and generate 17 watts of output. It charges slightly slower than the Vaporesso Degree, taking an hour and a half to get fully powered.
lost_vape_orion_q_pod image

The pods have 2 ml of total e-juice capacity, and they are made of clear plastic so the e-juice levels can be easily monitored. The pods of the Degree are slightly more transparent. The pod can be released with a switch on the side. Some of the pods have too much cotton, though, and it takes a long time to charge.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Outstanding battery life

Cons

  • The door covering the pod comes off too easily

Final Words about the Vaporesso Degree Kit

The Vaporesso Degree kit is an excellent purchase for those who like vape mod kits. It is light and ultra transportable while sporting an outstanding battery that can last for two days. The pods are another thing to like about this vape.

Both of them work great, and the airflow and flavor coming out of them are superb. Plus, they are easy to take in or out, and monitoring the juice levels is simple thanks to the transparent plastic. Finally, the vape is ultra-responsive, the controls are easy to use, and it fires up quickly.

With that being said, there are a few cons to using these kits. The most glaring drawback of the Vaporesso Degree kit is that the coils are not replaceable. Yes, this not an AIO, but it would still be nice if they would develop a pod for those who want to replace their coils. Another thing is that the door covering the pod comes off too easily. They should make a stronger connection between the door and the pod.

Other than those small cons, this is a great vape. If you have an opinion about the quality of the Vaporesso Degree, feel free to leave a comment telling us about your experience using it, and whether you would recommend it.
