The Suorin Reno is a mini pod device that features an internal 800mAh cell that can output up to 13W of direct power. The Suorin kit uses an open, 3ml pod so users can refill it whenever they wish. The coil inside the pod is a 1.0ohm mesh coil compatible with mouth-to-lung vaping and nicotine salts e-liquids with an even 50/50 VG/PG ratio. But the organic cotton coil is also compatible with other types of e-juices, as well as no-nicotine e-liquids. The Reno vape kit works on air-activation, so users only need to inhale from the duck-billed mouthpiece to begin vaping. The Suorin vape is ultra-slim and portable thanks to its aluminum chassis that measures a little less than 90mm in height.

A Closer Look at the Suorin Reno

The Suorin Reno is a very slim and lightweight vape with no buttons but instead works on air-activation. The Suorin starter kit does have some LED indicators along its side to show battery life, but the rest of the exterior is clean and featureless. The pods are semi-transparent plastic, but the cell section is covered in an aluminum alloy that gives the Reno vape a sturdy but lightweight build.

The Suorin mods come with an internal 800mAh cell that users can recharge via the Type-C charging port on the device’s bottom. The Suorin starter kit also includes a Type-C charging cable. The pods are removable and are installed at the top half of the cell. The pods are bottom-filled, so users must turn them upside down to reach the fill port.

The fill port is stopped by a silicone plug that users must remove to fill the pod. The coils are also removable and can be installed with a plug and play method. The coils are double-slotted to allow for better air intake through the pod and out the mouthpiece on the other side. The coil itself is mesh and uses organic cotton as its wicking material.

The coil is also compatible with many different e-liquids with different nicotine concentrations, but we’ll talk about that later. As there are no buttons on the device, the Reno does not have any variable voltage settings and works on a direct voltage output of about 13W, depending on the coil installed.

What’s Inside the Kit

The Suorin Reno is an effortless and straightforward device, so its starter kit contents are relatively few. Users will find the Suorin vape itself and a pod but two coils (one pre-installed and one spare coil). Here’s what users should expect when they get the Suorin Reno Starter Kit:

  • One x Suorin Reno
  • One x Reno Pod
  • Two x Mesh Coils
  • One x USB Type-C Cable

The Look and Feel of the Device

The Suorin Reno is a very lightweight and slim open pod vape. It measures a little less than 90mm in height and only 12mm in width, so it is ultra-portable. The Suorin vape is intended to be an all-day vape that users can take anywhere with them. The amount of vapor that the device produces is also minimal, making it an excellent choice for discreet vapers.

How Long It Lasts

The Reno features an internal 800mAh battery, which is typical for pod mods of this size. It works on direct voltage output, so it consistently puts out the same amount of power, but its capacity is diminished as the cell drains. With a 1.0ohm coil inside, the Suorin mods can get through an entire day with light to moderate use but might need a midday recharge with heavy use.

But that should not take too much time. The cell can be fully recharged in under an hour at only 40 minutes or so. The LED indicator light will show when the cell is low, but users should also notice that the vapor quality is reduced when the cell is no longer outputting as much power as before.

What Are the Pods Like?

The Reno pods are semi-transparent plastic, so users can check their e-liquid levels from outside without having to remove the pod from the battery. The pods hold 3ml of e-juice. They use a bottom fill-port that is stopped by a silicone stopper that comes out and is attached directly to the pod, so users do not have to worry about losing it.

Users must insert the coil into the pod’s center, which will attach with a firm push once inside the pod. The coils have o-rings on the top and bottom, so they will stay firmly in place when installed into the pod. There are two juice ports on either side of the coil, allowing the organic cotton wicks to absorb the e-juice inside.

The pod’s mouthpiece has a duck-billed design, which means that both sides are pressed flat, but the rest of the pod flares out. There is a single mouthpiece hole for users to inhale the vapor produced by the coil. There are no airflow vents on the pod, but the coil does have an opening on the bottom to allow air into the pod from the bottom of the device.

The coils’ design means that they are compatible with many types of e-liquids, from nicotine salts to freebase nicotine e-juices. The PG/VG compatibility is also broad. The organic cotton wicks can absorb both high VG, even VG/PG e-juices, and even high PG e-liquids with the same results of producing high-quality, flavorful mouth-to-lung vapor.

How to Use the Device

The Reno is a very straightforward device intended for beginners and people who have not vaped for a long time. The basic operation of the device requires users to charge the battery and fill the pod with e-juice. As the Reno has no buttons or screens, users need only to start inhaling from the pod’s mouthpiece to begin vaping.

When the battery’s LED indicators start flashing, that means it’s time to recharge the battery. Users will also notice that the vapor quality is reduced when the battery charge is low, which is another sign that the power output is low and the battery needs to be recharged. The battery has a charge rate of 800a, which can be fully recharged very quickly in about 40 minutes.

The Competition

Suorin Air

The Suorin Air is another popular pod device from Suorin that features an ultra-slim, portable, and lightweight build with a buttonless design. The Air is even thinner than the Reno, but it holds only 2ml of e-liquid in its pod and has only a 400mAh internal battery compared to the 3ml and 800mAh battery Reno.

Suorin air

The Air also has a bottom fill pod, but the Air pods do not have a removable coil like the Reno. The Air also has a USB-C charging port on the bottom, but its lowered battery capacity does not last as long as the Reno.

Suorin Edge

The Suorin Edge has a different design than the Air or Reno, as it uses a removable cell installed into the bottom of the outer chassis. The Edge is also a pod device and uses a bottom-fill port to fill its much-smaller capacity pod of 1.5ml e-liquid.

Suorin Edge

The Edge has a longer shape than either the Air or Reno, but it is not that bigger in weight or shape. The Edge is also a buttonless vape and uses air-activation. The Edge battery has a capacity of 230mAh and takes only half an hour to recharge.

The Suorin Reno is a very easy-to-use vape with wide compatibility with different types of e-juices, thanks to its versatile coil. The Reno is an air-activated device, so it is very straightforward to use for new vapers. The Suorin Reno mods have a good battery life with its 800mAh capacity, larger than the other pod-style kits in the Suorin line-up.

The battery also strikes the right balance between durability and recharge time as it takes less than an hour to recharge fully. I love the written word, and in my career as a journalist, I strive to provide the facts about everything I write about. There are too many false and alarmist stories out there about life and vaping mainly. My mission is to make e-cigarettes less scary to people with informative articles and extensive research on not only the possible evils of cigarettes and Big Tobacco, but the objective side of e-cigs.
