The Pasito copies the form factor of another popular pod device, the Lost Vape Orion, as it has a top-loading pod and a side control panel that lets users choose between several power levels.
Users can choose from five different power levels denoted by the five LEDs splayed across the front of the device.

A Closer Look at the Smoant Pasito
The Smoant Pasito’s resemblance to the Orion vape is unmistakable. Side-by-side, the two devices look like twins. The Pasito has LED lighting across one side of its two-sided frame, both of which are inlaid with anti-fingerprint, resin, panels (there are six different colors available for the device).
The device stands at just over 100mm (107mm to be exact, or 4.2”), and it is only 18mm across (0.7”). It is tall, especially when the pod is installed. The entire battery section is an aluminum alloy, and it feels good in the hand. It does not feel weighty but lightweight, so it is good to take around with you.
The top section is also unique for having a square magnet next to the two gold-plated battery contacts. The magnet is for the pod to create a secure connection, unlike the Orion that used a locking mechanism to secure its e-juice pod. The battery section also has grooves running along either side to give it a more ergonomic feel.
Along one side of the battery section, users will find Pasito’s control panel. The interface consists of the top power/firing button, and the two up/down buttons a little further down. One special feature Pasito’s battery is that it takes USB-C charging, which can recharge the device faster than typical micro USB ports.
What’s in the Box
The Smoant Pasito vape has a full box of goodies inside. The device has multiple coil options, and there are two included in the kit. The RBA coil is sold separately and does not come standard in the kit. Here’s what to expect when you get the Smoant Pasito Rebuildable Pod Kit:
- One x Smoant Pasito
- One x 3mL Smoant Pasito Pod
- One x 0.6ohm DTL Mesh Coil
- One x 1.4ohm Ni80 MTL Coil Head
- One x USB-C Charging Cable
- One x Coil Warning Card
- One x User Manual
The Look and Feel of the Smoant Pasito
The Smoant Pasito pod, of course, has a similar form factor to the Lost Vape Orion, but it feels a little lighter than that zinc alloy device. The aircraft-grade aluminum of the mod’s build makes it both sturdy but super portable.
The rest of the device, with its resin panels on either side and two arms that hold the pod in place does not feel flimsy or poorly made.
It has grooves along the sides to help with the grip, while the pod itself, which is made out of plastic, feels like it has a good build to it. The pods also come outfitted with some unique features, which we will get to later.
Getting the Smoant Pasito to Work
The Pasito is more advanced than typical pod devices, but it still retains the simplicity of these devices. There are only three buttons, and with the easy controls, anyone can quickly learn how to navigate the device.
Users can simply press buttons to move between the battery five power levels:
The device is not air-activated and users need to press the firing button to heat the coil inside. The Pasito takes five-clicks-on, five-clicks-off, but there is no locking mechanism or other button combination to keep the device from firing. For such a simple device, there is also no need to install a locking feature.
The Pods and Coils
The second part of the Pasito is the pod, which can hold 3ml and uses a bottom removable coil. The pods are bottom-filled and the coils are also installed or removed from the bottom of the pod, which has an opening with a separate gold-plated coil base. The coil base is a separate part that users need to remove so they can screw in the coil.
With the coil base and coil assembled, users can then plug, or press-fit the entire assembly into the coil opening. Another interesting feature of the Pasito pods is the airflow control system. The Orion pod uses a ring at the base of the drip tip to allow the control of the airflow. The Pasito uses a different system.
Users will find a small, adjustable tab on the top section of the pod, opposite the mouthpiece. The tab can move from left to right. The further right it is, closes off the airflow entirely, giving users a mouth-to-lung vape, while the further left it is, the airflow channel is wide-open, producing more clouds.
Users can choose, though, as they do not have to have the airflow vent wide-open or fully closed, they can leave a quarter of the way open (or closed). They can leave it three-quarters of the way open (or closed). It all depends on their preference and the type of coil they have installed in the pod.
There are two coils in the Pasito kit. Users can choose from either a 0.6ohm DTL mesh coil rated for between 20-25W or a regular NiChrome 1.4ohm coil made for MTL vaping and rated for between 10-13W, which are the two lowest power levels. The coils are thin and long and resemble the vertical shape of other MTL coils like the Nautilus.
How Smoant Pasito Vapes
The Pasito combines simple functioning with two coil options to give vapers a lot of choices. The pod system has two removable coil options, along with adjustable airflow along the top of the pod for users to find their sweet spot. The power options also give users a lot of room to find the right combination of settings for them.
Leaving the airflow slightly closed, with the MTL coil installed ensures smooth flavor, while the DL coil along with a wide-open airflow vent gives users more clouds. The mid-range power settings let users get a good combination of both, no matter if they have the DL or MTL coil installed.
Users can take the MTL coil to its wattage limit, and leave the airflow wide-open to get the best of both worlds. The battery life for the device is also exceptional. Depending on the power level users choose, the device can last for anywhere between a full day and a half on single charge. The USB-C charging also gives the device a head-start when it comes time to charge as it can charge the device faster than USB.
SMOK Trinity Alpha
The SMOK Trinity Alpha has a similar form factor to the Orion and Pasito vape as it is also a portable, variable voltage pod device. The device uses an internal 1000mAh battery that has three different output settings ranging from 6-30W. User can also choose from three different output modes, ranging from soft, normal, and hard.
The Trinity Alpha comes with a single 2.8ml refillable pod that also uses removable coils. There are two coils in the Trinity Alpha kit, one is a 0.6ohm Nord mesh coil, and the other is a 0.8ohm MTL coil.
The Uwell Caliburn is a true pod device as it uses a refillable 2ml pod and a 520mAh battery that works on direct voltage output.
The Caliburn has a thin, elongated shape that resembles other popular pod devices that do not have variable voltage settings or advanced chips insides. Instead, Caliburn has a single operating button that lets users choose between an automatic or manual firing function. The Caliburn features a sturdy aluminum alloy build while it also has a high power output of 11W.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Device
Is Smoant Pasito good?
The Smoant Pasito has many remarkable features like its removable coil system, variable voltage levels, and pocket-friendly size, making it a good choice for many vapers. Two coil types support either MTL vaping or DL vaping, and there is an optional RBA coil for those who prefer to build their coils.
In addition, the Pasito has a good battery capacity (1100mAh), and it features a regulator chip that keeps flavor and vapor production consistent, even at low battery levels.
How long do Smoant Pasito coils last?
The pre-made coils can last for a minimum of a week, depending on vaping habits and frequency. The Smoant Pasito has two coil options: one 1.4ohm, Ni-80 coil, and one 0.6ohm mesh coil.
An RBA coil head is also available for users who like to build their coils. The device also features variable voltage levels, so vaping at the higher levels will run out the coils faster.
How do I refill my Smoant Pasito?
The Smoant Pasito pod features a simple top-filling method that requires only that users unscrew the drip tip from the pod. Once the drip tip has been removed, users can fill the pod via the open slots, avoiding the central airflow chimney that is not for filling.
How do I know when my Pasito is done charging?
When all five LEDs are lit up, the battery is fully charged. The Pasito has an intuitive LED system consisting of five different lights that show not only battery level but also wattage output.
When all five LEDs are illuminated, the battery is at full power. As the battery power lowers, the number of illuminated lights will also go down.

Conclusion: A Cheaper Option to the Orion
The Smoant Pasito comes at a time when pods are receding in popularity, but not so much. Pods are still popular, even though the trend now seems to be swerving back toward box mods.
Regardless, for those looking for a mid-range, open-system pod device with adjustable airflow control and many coil options, the Smoant Pasito is a good place to start.
It has very simple functionality, while its versatility has something for every vaper. The addition of the threaded coil base gives the coils a lot more security as they stay in place and are saturated very well when they are installed into the pod. The airflow function is simple and easy to use while changing the power levels is as simple as pushing a button up or down.
