Vaping is one of the ways to quit smoking, but the problem is that people can become addicted to vapes instead of cigarettes. The answer to vape addiction is to find vapes that do not use e-juice containing nicotine.

Rarely are nicotine-free liquids found in disposables, but they are out there. One of those is the Melody Bar Original.

Melody Bar Vape Review: Does It Help Stop Nicotine Addiction?

The Melody Bar has draw activation, several interesting flavors, and a compact design, which are the essential features of a disposable vape. The only thing it is missing is salt nic juice.

But the absence of nicotine juice is its central advantage.

Even though vaping is probably safer than smoking, nicotine is still addictive, and it causes its own set of health problems. Notable problems caused by nicotine are addiction (obviously), fast heartbeat, and high blood pressure.

What is worse is that vapes have a lot more nicotine than cigarettes, making them more addictive.

Building Quality and Design

Melody Bar Vape Review

The build and design quality of this device is on par with other disposables. Like we said earlier, it is small and portable, just as a disposable vape should be.

The only problem is that it has a rectangular design, but that is very subjective criticism. It is just that some people like the more roundish designs because they feel more comfortable.

But one critique that is not subjective is the lack of a mouthpiece. Just the sharp corners of one end of the vape and an air path. A mouthpiece would have been much more comfortable.

Melody Bar Flavors

Melody has six flavors:

  • Cotton Candy
  • Raspberry Lemonade
  • Banana Ice
  • Blue Razz
  • Pineapple Guava
  • Energy Drink

These are some delightful flavors, especially cotton candy. Cotton candy is arguably their best.

Banana ice and pineapple guava are close runners-up, though.

The only drawbacks are that they do not have any other flavors, including coffee or tobacco flavored vapes. But this is a new company, so we will cut them some slack on that.

But if they want to put themselves over the top, they will add some more flavors. In fact, they are already doing that by creating “air” and “water” flavors.

The air and water vapes taste just like air and water. It is hard to see the point in them, but that is what the customer wants, and the customer gets what they want.

Vaping Performance

The device performs well. Every draw is smooth, not to mention flavorful, without any spit back or interruptions. It runs just like that until the battery dies and juice well depletes.

In short, there is nothing to criticize about the vape’s operation. But those smooth draws would be a lot better if there was a comfortable mouthpiece to go with it.

How to Use a Melody Vape Bar

There is nothing complicated about using a disposable vape. Unlike pod mods, there is no need to refill them, recharge the batteries, or fiddle with firing buttons. Instead, inhale on the mouthpiece to turn it on, and the vapor will come out. Keep vaping on it until it dies, and then throw it out and pick up a new one.

Competing Vape Products

Melody Bar Vape vs Melo Air Diffuser

Melo Air Diffuser Starter Kit

Melo vapes are a whole different animal from Melody. Unlike Melodies, the Melo contains melatonin, a hormone that helps people get to sleep. So Melody might be a good device for people who want to stop vaping, but Melo is a better option for people who have trouble getting a good night’s sleep.

Melody Bar Vape vs Nutrohaler Disposable Diffuser

Nutrohaler Disposable Diffuser Flavors

The Nutrohaler has a few advantages over the Melody Bar diffuser.

The main differences between these devices are the shape and number of flavors. Nutrohaler has a more finger-friendly design, being rounded, and it has a mouthpiece. As for flavors, Nutrohaler has 16 flavors. One contains CBD, another caffeine, and the other melatonin.

Melody has only six flavors, and none of them contain CBD, caffeine, or melatonin.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How Many Puffs Are in a Melody Bar?

These vapes contain around 400 puffs. They should last for a week at the very least.

  • How Old Do You Have to be to Use a Melody Bar Vape?

Melody’s website says you can buy a Melody vape bar at any age. However, a minor who walks into a store to buy one might have trouble because people might think it has nicotine despite what the product’s makers say. People who buy this product online should not have any problems, though.

We advise to be at least 18 before ordering, but 21 is best because it is the legal smoking age.

Since these products do not contain salt nic, they may be illegal for minors to buy depending on how the police or FDA define “tobacco product.”

We further advise you not to be a litigant in the lawsuit that sets the legal precedent for what is considered a tobacco product.

  • Does Melody Bar Help to Quit Smoking?

By itself, likely no. What is more likely to help is combining vaping Melody bars with a smoking cessation program. This program should involve the assistance of a therapist with experience helping people beat addiction.

The Negatives

Final Thoughts

These vapes are great alternatives to disposables with high salt nic concentrations because users can maintain their habit and keep getting flavorful hits without fuelling their addiction.

However, if Melody wants to keep people interested in their products, it would be best if they made some improvements.

The biggest thing they could do is add more flavors. Nutrohaler has over a dozen and Melody only has six listed on their website, not counting what they mentioned on TikTok. So they should add more flavors as soon as possible.

Secondly, they need to add a mouthpiece. It cannot be said enough that the absence of a mouthpiece seriously detracts from all the pros.

If Melody made those improvements mentioned above, this would be an outstanding nicotine-free diffuser.

I think these Melody bars are probably overall a good introduction to no nic vape but I’m sure a single one wouldn’t help your quit. Their new Melody Max model that has 10x more puffs most likely would be a better option
