The Atmos Kiln RA is an update to a previous version of the same wax vaporizer. The “RA” stands for rebuildable atomizer, as this device is one of few wax vaporizers on the market that has such a feature. A rebuildable atomizer means that the tank section can be replaced if the heating element ever breaks. The pen has a full ceramic body, which is another unique and attractive quality of the device. The tank section has 510 threading making it compatible with any similarly threaded battery.

Up Close with the Atmos Kiln RA

To load the cartridge, simply remove the top-half of the tank by pulling on it. Pulling from further down on the tank section reveals the atomizer, which is kept in place by dual posts.

The kit includes all the necessary tools, like an Allen wrench and mini screwdriver, to remove the atomizer if needed. The heating chamber inside is very deep and at the very bottom, there is a sub-ohm ceramic wax heating disc, which provides an even amount of energy to materials.

The mouthpiece is also ceramic and snout-like in shape, as it is much taller than most. There is a single, square firing button on the battery and a USB charging port at the base of the device. There are two airflow vents on either side of the tank section.

Working the Atmos Kiln RA

The Atmos Kiln RA is remarkably easy to use. It has only one button, and turning it on requires five clicks on/five clicks off. Use the dabbing tool provided to load the cartridge, without touching the ceramic plate inside.

The tank section consists of two parts. Both sections are held tight with three, large rubber O-rings and there is no rattle or movement whatsoever.

The first part is the loading chamber. The second is the ceramic housing chamber and allows access to the removable atomizer. To unscrew the atomizer section, and replace it with a new one or even to clean it, use the tools provided.

Unscrew the screws and gently remove the tank from the dual post-deck. Place a new atomizer on the posts and screw it gently back into place. Be aware that the connector wires are very thin and sensitive. Removing the atomizer unnecessarily may cause the wires to bend and make re-attaching them next to impossible.

As the tank section has 510 stainless steel threading on its base, it can be used with any 510 threaded mod. When using with an adjustable settings mod, try vaping in between 5W-15W or in temperature control, somewhere between 300F and 400F.

The Atmos Kiln RA in Action

The performance of this wax pen is impressive and it vapes incredibly well. The dual airflow vents on either side of the tank are non-adjustable, but they let in the right amount of air to make for a tight draw. The heating disc heats up in less than three seconds.

The deep-dish ceramic chamber allows for plenty of material. There is no need to worry about over-packing, or material being wasted. The all-ceramic construction ensures a clean and clear vapor path, so no impurities or chemicals taint the vapor quality.

The Atmos Kiln RA vs. the KandyPens Mini vs. the G-Pen Wax Vaporizer

The KandyPens Mini

The KandyPens Mini is a stubby, wax vaporizer with an all-ceramic build and a long, extended mouthpiece. The KandyPens Mini is 4.45inches, and it comes with two additional atomizers, one quartz, and one gold.

The G-Pen Wax Vaporizer

The G-Pen wax vaporizer features a dual-quartz rod atomizer. It has a steady, consistent output of power, one preset temperature setting and a soft, rubberized outer casing.

The Atmos Kiln RA: The Last Word

Do you like the convenience of having a rebuildable atomizer for a wax vaporizer? Are you turned off by the fact that there are no adjustable settings on the Kiln mod?

The pen is a compact, versatile, and attractive wax vaporizer. It has a sturdy, all-ceramic build, a wide-open material chamber, and an easy-to-use operating interface. The Kiln RA is interchangeable with any 510 threaded mod and produces excellent, flavorful vapor.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
