The Vaporesso Luxe kit includes the Luxe, dual-18650 batteries box mod, and the new Vaporesso SKRR sub-ohm e-juice tank. The Luxe vape mod in the starter kit features the new Vaporesso Omni 4.0 board within its sturdy, zinc alloy exterior that allows for a near-instant heat-up time, as well as several, high-tech vaping outputs like curve mode, bypass mode, and a memory mode.

The Vaporesso Luxe is not a full-touchscreen box mod nor is it a starter kit, but the 2″ TFT screen has vibrating feedback for the virtual adjustment buttons on display. There is a medium-sized firing/power button on the side of the Vaporesso Luxe box mod. There is a spring-loaded, gold-plated 510-connection up top for all kinds of tanks, and the two 18650 cells are loaded into the mod from the battery door in the back.

A Look Inside the Vaporesso Luxe Kit

The Vaporesso Luxe starter kit comes with the SKRR sub-ohm tank that has two e-liquid capacities, 2ml and 8ml, which is standard practice nowadays for most kits. For TPD countries, there will be only a replacement 2ml glass piece, not the 8ml glass piece in the starter kit.

The Vaporesso Luxe starter kit comes stocked with the following:

  • One Vaporesso Luxe mod
  • One Vaporesso SKRR sub-ohm tank (pre-installed with the 8ml (or 2ml) glass and 0.18ohm Strip coil)
  • One 0.18ohm QF Meshed coil
  • One spare 5ml glass tube
  • One silicone band for the tank
  • One Micro USB charging cable
  • O-rings
  • One user manual

The Vaporesso Luxe Kit, Up Close

The Vaporesso Luxe vape mod in the kit lives up to its luxury-inspired title, at least, in its appearance. It has the subtle, sleek edges and the clean, uncluttered exterior of a top-of-the-line vape dual-18650 batteries mod, specifically a touchscreen mod. As there are no independent adjustment buttons – or “mode” button, which was/is typical of most Vaporesso mods – the Luxe mod’s surface is smooth and elegant, in keeping with the kit’s inspiration.

There is that side firing/power button that has a nice feel to it and only works at the very top of the mod’s edge, where a white dot sits. This white dot represents where to touch the button, as touching it on the lower portion will not activate the Luxe mod. The two 18650 batteries (that are not included in the kit) needed to power the device gets installed from the back, where a magnetized panel protects the battery bay.

An interesting thing about the Luxe battery door is that there is a non-conductive coating on the inside of the panel that protects against any battery shorts, so it is almost like an extra layer of protection between the battery and the user. The Vaporesso box mod has battery venting holes underneath its frame, and a spring-loaded, 510-connection on the top like most mods.

The Vaporesso Luxe measures close to 90mm in height (3.5 inches) and 30mm across (1.2 inches) so its 510-connection can take tanks and atomizers at least 28mm (1.1 inches) in diameter without overhang. With the SKRR vape tank attached, the height of the entire kit jumps to 146mm (5.7 inches). There is a beveled edge atop the box mod so a 30mm could fit, but it would hang over that angled edge.

As the Vaporesso Luxe vape mod relies only on the virtual adjustment buttons on the screen, the rest of the mod is button-less and also feature-less, meaning there are no real design accents apart from the colors the vape mod can come in, which are seven in total. All the Vaporesso Luxe mod’s color options, like iris, silver, bronze, and rainbow have futuristic or colorful design patterns, while the black and silver options are all solid colors like black, silver, iris, and bronze.

Working the Vaporesso Luxe

The Vaporesso Luxe, like the mods before it, uses the Omni line of chips that Vaporesso has used in its starter kits since the beginning. The Vaporesso Luxe features the newest version, the Omni 4.0, which also made an appearance in the Vaporesso Polar and Armour kits. The features of the Omni 4.0 include giving the vape mod a quick heat-up time of less than one second – 0.001 seconds, to be exact.

Apart from this new super-fast ramp-up time, the Omni 4.0 board also carries all the vaping outputs that Vaporesso had a hand in popularizing for all kinds of mods. These outputs include things like curve settings for temperature and wattage, as well as three different variable wattage modes – hard, normal, and soft.

As soon as two batteries are loaded into the mod, the unit vibrates. It also vibrates when a user makes adjustments on the screen, but the feature can also be disabled by touching the center, Vaporesso-logo/button between the two adjustment buttons.

Only these buttons function by touch. The rest of the 2′ TFT display, where all the mod’s relevant vape information is displayed like the semi-circle that shows the current wattage, will not respond to touch. The home screen also shows the battery life of the two cells, the current vape mode, resistance, amperage, voltage, puff counter, and a vape timer.

Pressing the center button, which is the Vaporesso logo, in between the two virtual buttons, takes a user into the main menu screen. Here, a user can choose from among the thirteen different vaping modes available on the Omni 4.0 board. Again, the Vaporesso Luxe is not the first Vaporesso device to use the Omni 4.0, but it is the first to use the touch buttons.

The Vaporesso SKRR Tank

The Vaporesso SKRR vape tank has a base e-juice capacity of 2ml, with the possibility of extending the size to 8ml with the extender piece, which is a common feature among new tanks and kits. Again, vapers in Europe and the UK will only get two 2ml pieces in the Vaporesso Luxe kit, while US vapers can get the kit with the 8ml tank with the 2ml glass piece as a back-up. The tank has a beefy, stainless steel exterior, and even more so with the 8ml glass piece attached.

The tank measures 30mm in diameter (1.1 inches) so it fits the Vaporesso Luxe vape mod perfectly. The SKRR has a unique safety feature, not seen on a lot of tanks in vape kits the top cap cannot be opened if the drip tip is in place. To fill the tank, a user needs first to unscrew the drip tip and then push back the top-cap to reveal the fill port.

There are several stainless steel pieces to the tank, including the adjustable airflow slots on the base of the SKRR. The real innovation though is in the QF coils that are not compatible with any other tanks. The coils feature a unique inner air chimney that has a bottom airflow intake. Air comes in through the airflow slots, travels up the intake and then gets distributed evenly into the center of the coil.

It’s a design that many RBAs and other rebuildable atomizer kits use (sometimes, but not always) to maximize the air intake of their tanks. The design also reduces the amount of cold air that enters the tank, so there is a continual flow of warm air inside the coil. There are also dual, stacked juice ports all along the outer side of the coil, so the wicks get good and saturated.

And speaking of the wicks, these QF (quad airflow) coils have unique flax and organic cotton blend that stands in for the typical organic cotton material. If a user wanted to use a different coil, like the Vaporesso GT coil, for example, the Vaporesso SKRR tank is compatible with those atomizer heads as well.

Vaping the Vaporesso Luxe and SKRR Tank

The new Omni 4.0 board has over thirteen different vaping modes for use on the Luxe, a lot more than other mods. There are sub-categories within the standard vaping options like variable wattage and temperature control, such as custom curve mods for both wattage and temperature control.

Then there are the modes for nickel, titanium and stainless steel in temperature control, which also has a custom curve option. There is also variable voltage mode, TCR, as well as bypass mode. The entire mode menu is very well-organized, and it is straightforward to use.

The QF coils in the SKRR tank have a wattage range of between 50-80W but vapes best between 65-75W. Even though the highest output on the Vaporesso Luxe is 220W, this wattage range of the coils makes the custom curve wattage feature a perfect way to vape with these coils. The Vaporesso Luxe, in custom curve wattage mode, can start at the base setting of 50W and climb toward that 90W maximum.

Of course, there are several vaping options on the Omni 4.0 board, so vapers have a lot of versatility with this vape box mod kit. The SKRR tank and coils are, again, a perfect match for the mod’s abilities. The airflow is excellent, and the quad airflow system delivered savory and voluminous clouds.

Closing Thoughts on the Vaporesso Luxe Kit

The Vaporesso Luxe vape mod and the SKRR tank, as well as the new Omni 4.0 board, are the new devices to beat in terms of power, sophistication, and vapor production. The Omni 4.0 is a strong foundation for the performance of all those other parts, like the tank and coils. It is super-fast, and it allows for so much customization.

Vapers have so many options, and they all perform superbly well. The custom curve mode display is light-years beyond what every other curve feature on other mods looks like. It has a bright graph-like display that is very easy to navigate, but that is only one thing to like about the Vaporesso Luxe mod and SKRR tank.

The menus are all easy to work around, and the flavor from the QF meshed coils is remarkable. The Vaporesso Luxe looks excellent, and its internals rival the best chips available like the YiHi and DNA chips. The Omni 4.0 board does take the cake in one crucial area, and that is that it costs much less than those state-of-the-art, albeit high-priced chips.
