The Herb-E is a dry herb vaporizer created by Mig Vapor. They made the Herb-E to fill the void in dry herb vaping — stealth and portability. The Mig Vapor Herb-E is one of the most portable dry herb vaporizers around. The price to performance value on this vape is impressive, and with dual temperature modes, half a gram chamber size and a large battery in such a small device, the Herb-E was quite a surprise. Overall, the box contains everything needed to get started and maintain the vape initially.

The Herb-E is a small dry herb vaporizer, but users doubts will be quickly put to rest once they fire it up. The Herb-E does not contain a river of features and does not need them. Instead, it does what they designed it to do. The simple dual modes are the only two features that come with the vaporizer. Users can identify which mode they are in by the two LED lights on the front side of the Herb-E.

Yellow “Happy” Mode — The Herb-E has two modes. The first is the yellow mode which they call the happy mode. This first mode takes about 15 flashes of the LEDs to warm up too. Once the yellow light becomes solid, the user is ready to vape. In this mode, the temperatures inside the chamber are not high enough to combust the herb. Thus, the user only gets vapor.

Red “Angry” Mode — The second mode offers is the angry red mode. This mode can be accessed by holding the button down for 5 seconds, which should turn the lights from yellow to red. This mode is the hottest and will give the user the most vapor, but at a higher temperature.

Herb-E’s Look and Feel

Mig Vapor Herb-E desktop

Just looking at the Herb-E, one can get a sense of what direction Mig Vapor was going with its design. A small form factor dry herb vaporizer. They have tried to outdo the norm and take dry herb vaporizing to the highly portable. The overall style of the vaporizer seems to be a knock at the animated movie character Wall-E. This approach makes it nice, sleek, and the clean design makes looking at the vaporizer pleasing.

How The Device Feels

Herb-E is quite light and feels good in the hand. The quality of metal wrapped in carbon fiber stands out and makes the experience of holding it premium. Mentioning the carbon fiber again acts as an insulator, keeping the heat in and preventing hands from becoming too hot.
Some other points to mention are when holding the Mig Vapor Herb-E in hand, the user may notice that the way they hold it will change from other larger devices.

Using the Mig Vapor Herb-E

Performance

The performance of the vaporizer is about what a vaper would expect. Waiting the 15 seconds for the vaporizer to heat up into yellow mode is fine. The yellow mode gets the user a great vape without combusting the herbs.

When switching into the angry red mode, it is advised to vape a little bit slower to give it the time to heat up and vaporize the materials. But, overall, the performance of the vaporizer is on par with what one expects from something this size.

Vapor Quality & Flavor

The yellow mode does not produce much visible vapor, which is good for those looking to be stealthy. Again, though, it all does depend on the quality of the herb the vaper is using. All in all, the flavor was spot on, giving off a pleasant taste of the herb.

For the red mode, it does seem to create more vapor. If vapers are looking to be stealthy, it is recommended to stick to the yellow mode. As mentioned previously, it is almost like the herb is caramelizing. The overall flavor of this mode is excellent and get users what they want.

How to Setup and Use the Herb-E

Setting It Up

Luckily assembling the Herb-E is a breeze. There are three main parts to the vaporizer. The first is the body, and on top of that are the two others. The second piece is the mouthpiece which can be attached or removed by simply placing it on the top and securing it by fully pressing it in place. Lastly, there is the removable chamber which can be accessed by removing the mouthpiece.

How to Refill The Device

Refilling the Mig Vapor Herb-E is also quite simple. As previously explained, just pop off the mouthpiece and clean out any existing herb. Then take freshly ground herb and fill the chamber. Overfilling the chamber about 75% and not compacting it tightly – gives the best results.

What It Takes to Clean The Herb-E

With the Herb-E, the clean-up and maintenance are straightforward. Mig Vapor was also kind enough to include alcohol swabs, tweezers, a cleaning brush and three pipe cleaners:

  1. Separate the three main pieces and wipe everything down with an alcohol swab, except the chamber.
  2. Clean the chamber with the tweezers, pick out all the old herbs. The cleaning brush also comes in handy to get off anything stuck on.
  3. Finish by swabbing clean the inside of the chamber.

Any additional information can be found in the user manual provided with the device.

How Does the Herb-E Compare to the Other Devices

PAX 3

The PAX 3 is a well-known vaporizer in the vape world that comes at a much higher price than the Herb-E. However, because it is expensive, the PAX 3 has some benefits over the Herb-E, such as a ten-year limited warranty instead of the Herb-E’s 90-day warranty.

Pax 3 Review

However, the performance stats of the PAX 3 are pretty similar to those of the Herb-E. and if the vaper plans on handling their unit with care, then this warranty is likely not worth the massive dent in their wallet as a result of splurging on a PAX 3.

Firefly 2

The Firefly 2 is also much more expensive than the Herb-E. While it has a cute aesthetic, it is not necessarily a standard vape pen and feels much different in the vaper’s hand. It also may cause the unit to be less discreet and portable.

Though the Firefly 2 may have an app and more customizable features, it still does not get the title of the world’s smallest and most powerful vape pen — the Herb-E still holds that title. Therefore when it comes to performance and portability, the Herb-E still takes the cake at a much lower price.

Herb-E Seven Micro Wax Vaporizer

Herb-E Seven — Wax Pen by Mig Vapor

The original HERB-E was a tiny, dry herb vape with two preset temperatures. The new HERB-E 7 is for wax and concentrates vaping.

The HERB-E 7 also features an innovative pop-up coil design. The HERB-E 7 promises no-mess clean-up for a portable wax vape with a brand new, removable coil assembly. The heater oven features a Kanthal wire coil covered in ceramic. Keeping in line with the original thought, the HERB-E 7 has two preset temperatures and glowing LED “eyes” as indicator lights.

Final Thoughts on Mig Vapor’s Herb-E

The Herb-E is an excellent addition to the ultra-portable dry herb vape pens out there. The price is right, and the performance is there. The area this device shines at the most. The simplicity and style make it slightly elegant and sophisticated. If you are looking for something quick and portable, this vaporizer is a great choice. It may not produce the largest clouds, but it does offer the most power around in the world of vape pens. It just goes to show, vaporizers do not have to be overpriced to get the job done. Good things come in small, cheap packages in this particular case. Purchase your Herb-E today!

Hi I bought one of your Herb-E’S recently but I haven’t had much luck useing it. For one when I even put it on the “Angry” mode it still doesn’t give me enough that hardly any smoke comes out. Is that normal???
And after I try to smoke some a time or two the cannabis in the pipe isn’t burnt. It’s more of a brown tobacco look to it. Is that normal???
    Thank you for your help.

Hi David, thanks for writing in, sorry to hear about your trouble with the Herb-E, it’s usually a reliable, little driver. For one thing, don’t expect to get plumes of smoke from such a little device. The Herb-E is great for thinner, direct-lung pulls so it is not your typical pipe for smoking. There is no airflow regulation but you can improve the airflow by not overloading the chamber so the air can get in and out. Try making sure the mouthpiece is also clear before closing the chamber. Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more concerns. Happy vaping!

Never used a vape and I am so confused!! I want a small long battery life, plain regular tobacco flavor, want to see smoke, and simple to use, small and easy hand held. Reasonable price
