The Dr. Dabber Light is a wax and concentrates vape pen with single button control. The Dabber Light is lightweight, has an internal 650mAh battery, and works as an on-demand vaporizer. The entire Dabber vape pen separates into various parts: the cell, the atomizer, an atomizer sleeve, and a removable mouthpiece.

The Dabber Light vaporizer uses USB charging, and the kit includes a USB charger, as well as a second atomizer. The kit also comes with a loading tool and a bright, blue silicone ball that doubles as a storage case for any solid extracts.

The Dr. Dabber Light Kit

The Dr Dabber Light vape pen for waxes and concentrates has a stealthy, durable design. It is about the size of a king-size cigarette and has a single operating button. The power cell and atomizer section are covered by a soft, rubber material to make gripping the vaporizer easy and comfortable.

The Dabber Light comes apart into four separate pieces. The atomizer consists of a titanium wire wrapped around a glass wick. The kit includes a second atomizer, which is a welcome accessory, as it lets vapers experience another type of heating element. The pre-installed coil is a titanium wire wrapped around a glass-fiber wick.

The second atomizer features a ceramic wick instead of glass-fiber. The atomizers screw into the other section with a threaded connection, for easy removal and cleaning. The Dabber pen has no other temperature or power settings.

Dr. Dabber intended the Light to be a smaller, more discreet version of their Ghost vaporizer pen. The Light has the same design, as well as a similar coil atomizer. The Dabber Light is a miniature version of the Dabber Ghost vaporizer. They also both have the same Dr. Dabber logo LED at the tip of the pen.

The mouthpiece is made from durable plastic and has somewhat of a wide-bore. There is a large opening for the vapor to escape, and the pen has good airflow overall. The coil wire heats up instantly, and there is no need to wait for the device to heat-up.

Using the Light

The Light vaporizer is remarkably natural to use. There are no settings or screens to input adjustments, so it is as simple as loading material onto the coils and turning on the device. The unit takes five clicks to turn on and off, so remember that when traveling or taking it with you.

When it is on, vapers need only press the switch to activate the coil. The vapor production is instant. The flavor is deep and satisfying even though the cloud size is smaller than other, larger devices. But the taste is what the Light was designed for, and it delivers in that department.

The Light has a 650mAh internal power source, which is middle-of-the-road when it comes capacity. It is not a lot, but neither is it too little. For a pen the size of the Light, 650mAh is enough to get through a few days of low to medium usage, and maybe a full day with high usage. The Light should be good for at least 100 hits on a single charge.

When the charge is low, the power button will flash rapidly, signaling it’s time for a charge. Users can unscrew the atomizer from the battery, and then attach the USB charger plug. The charger plug has universal compatibility so it can work with any USB port.

So that stretches across at least a single day without charging. Of course, battery life also depends on how long the coil is activated. As for the coil(s), their operating life can be anywhere from 4-12 weeks, according to Dr. Dabber, if a user cleans and maintains it.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Dr. Dabber recommends soaking the atomizer tube in isopropyl alcohol for about half an hour to clean it of excess material. Cleaning the walls of the chamber with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol would also keep the coil running for longer.

When cleaning, do not use the loading tool to clean the atomizer, as it might catch on the wicks and render the unit worthless.

Vaping the Light

The loading chamber of the Dabber Light cannot hold as much as its larger counterpart, the Ghost, but having even only a small amount gave off great-tasting clouds. The heat-up time is instant, so the vapor production is quick and fast. The vapor is warm, and tasty, and the longer the draw, the more expansive the clouds.

The Light battery does have a ten-second cut-off time, so the draws can last as long as that. The coil uses low-heat technology. Even though there are no technical specs on what temperature the wire reaches, it is enough to melt wax or other solid concentrates without burning them.

The airflow through the chamber and the mouthpiece are also superb. The draw resistance is minimal, and inhaling the vapor through the sizable mouthpiece feels effortless. Again, the coils provide the right amount of convection heating to the material that gently heats it to create warm, flavorful clouds.

The Vape-Off

The Mig Vapor Sol E-Nectar Collector

The Sol E-Nectar Collector has two-in-one functioning as it works both as a dab pen, but also as a nectar collector. These two functions mean the Sol has two different atomizers. The atomizer for dabbing is quartz, while the atomizer for dipping is ceramic. The Sol also features a top cap for use as a tank atomizer for waxes.

The Sol uses an internal 400mAh battery with easy-to-use, one-button controls that users can set there preferred power or temperature level with. The device comes with three distinct power settings, 3.2V, 3.7V, and 4.2V.

The Mig Vapor WASP

The Mig Vapor WASP wax vape pen uses an atomizer combo of two carborundum rods with 316 stainless steel wrapped around them. It can reach a temperature of between 400F and 455F, as it has no other temperature or power settings.

The WASP comes in two distinct colors, black, and silver, with an eye-popping, neon-green PC tube acting as the device’s vapor path, along with the Pyrex glass mouthpiece. The WASP vaporizer has an internal 900mAh battery, and the coil can fire as low as 1.0ohms.

Pros&Cons

Cons

  • Short battery life

Closing Thoughts on the Dr Dabber Light

The Dr. Dabber Light vaporizer is very straightforward, in its operation, and exceptional in its performance. The Light as well as the Ghost, its predecessor, is an on-the-go device for quick, discreet hits of flavorful concentrates vapor. The device is lightweight and fits securely into a pocket or bag.

Speaking to its portability, other reviews have mentioned the power button as protruding too far out, risking an accidental firing or operation when in a pocket. But the reviews make it out to seem worse than it is, as nearly all the reviews also mentioned how well the Dabber Light performs. The switch does not have a lot of throw on it, so a user would have to push on it hard for it to fire.

Otherwise, the Light is easy to assemble, quick to load, and the coil fires immediately. The coil and battery life are also exceptional, as even with heavy use the battery could last at least a day. While with proper maintenance and cleaning, the coil could conceivably last for months.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
