Build Quality of Oz-Ohm Dry Herb Vape Tank
Made with an outer glass Pyrex body, it has a ceramic heating bowl that encases the 0.5-ohm coil which is made from nickel.
Keeping the heating coil encased is essential to have it perform the way it does in terms of flavor.
There is a wire mesh filter about the chamber so the herb or wax does not come out into the mouthpiece. Two rubber gaskets help keep the glass firmly in place, but also allow it to be easily removed. These will eventually break down and lose their grip, so there are two spare ones that come with the kit.
How to Use
- The first thing to make sure of, is that the battery has a 510 thread connection.
- Secondly, the battery should have a variable wattage feature. Since the Oz-Ohm has a wattage range of 15W to 28W, it is important to make sure it can be set accordingly. A vape over the 28W range will not only potentially combust the herb used, but it will definitely burn out the coils needlessly.
- Once the battery to be used is established, it just screws right into the body and is ready to use.
There are two different mouthpieces to pick from. A silicone one and the already assembled stainless steel one. When vaping at the higher wattage, and if doing some chain vaping, the stainless steel mouthpiece could end up getting a bit hot, in which case the silicone one is probably the better option.
With Dry Herbs
The dry herb should be just picked apart and does not need to be too finely ground. As long as it is not packed into the chamber, it will heat evenly. The ceramic chamber, filled to its optimum level of ⅔ of the way to the top, will provide 3 or 4 long draws before needed to be refilled.
Turn the vaporizer on and then press the fire button for 5 seconds or so before taking a draw. Ceramic chambers tend to heat slowly when they are first turned on. Then take a draw and that is it.
Wax Concentrate Vaping
All the same principles apply for vaping with a wax or dab as with the dry herb. Once the glass body is removed, it is easy to fill the chamber. Simply take the dabbing tool and apply it to the ceramic bowl. Spread it around so it melts fast and will vape quickly even at a lower temperature.
The ceramic bowl takes a few seconds to heat up, so give it about five seconds or so before inhaling. All the nuances of the concentrate come through accurately with full flavors.
