These vapes are the newest products from Vaporesso, and they have many features users will appreciate. They are pod tank mods available in different sizes, wattages, and battery capacities, but they both use pod tanks that use GTX coils.

GTX coils are very popular for direct-to-lung vapers. These mods are ideal for people who want a portable vape mod capable of DTL vaping.

Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & GTX GO 40 Review

To put it simply, the 80 and 40 are fun vapes to use because they are portable, comfortable, and have excellent airflow and flavor. The airflow is excellent for DTL lovers, and it is designed so that users can breathe in deep and expel decent-sized clouds.

Also, the GTX Go 40 comes with some high resistance coils designed for mouth-to-lung vaping, but it is not very tight. This mod is primarily a DTL vape.

The flavor ranges from excellent to fair, depending on the coils in the tank. Lower wattages work better for producing flavor than the higher wattages, though. There will be more on that later in the section about the coils. The bottom line is that the vaping experience is solid in terms of flavor, airflow, and portability.

What Is the Difference Between the Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40?

The main differences between these products are their size, battery, and wattage output.

  • The GTX Go 80 is 133.2 x 26 mm and has 5 ml pod capacity. It also has a 3,000 mah battery capable of 80 watt output.
  • The Vaporesso GTX Go 40 is smaller, measuring 110.3 x 22 mm. Its battery is 1,500 mah, and it puts out 40 watts. Also, the pod holds 3.5 ml.
  • The Vaporesso GTX Go 80 is for people who want more output and higher juice capacity
  • However, The 40 is better in terms of portability because of its small size.

Vapor Production

The 0.2 ohm coil for the GTX Go 80 is rated up to 60 watts, and it can produce huge clouds if vaped with the airflow wide open. Admittedly, cloud production is not as high as RDAs that heat up to a zillion watts, but cloud production is still pretty high.

Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40 Starter Kit

The tank on the 80 is also compatible with the 0.15 coil, which will produce slightly higher clouds, but nothing noticeably larger.

The 40 produces large clouds but not as large as the 80 because it has lower wattage output and uses a higher resistance coil.

Power Modes

There are no power modes or screens, making this mod about as simple as it gets. The button controls everything, and the user only has to worry about vaping it.

Safety Features

  • Low Resistance Protection
  • Short-Circuit Protection
  • No Load Protection
  • High Resistance Protection

Inside the Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40 Pod Kits

The 80 comes with a pod and one mesh coil, as well as a type-c cable, manual, and warranty card. The 40 comes with all the same things, except that it uses a different coil and smaller pod.

Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40

The only drawback to the starter kit is that each vape mod comes with only one coil. It would have been better if each came with two.

Build and Design Quality

These mods are durable and lightweight, making them both portable and comfortable to hold, and they have excellent button placement.

There is no rattling on these starter kits, so the machining must have been expertly done. As indicated earlier, the only difference in terms of the build is that the 80 is larger than the 40, which means that the 80’s battery will be larger and capable of more output.

The important thing is both are made to a high standard, so do not expect any problems in this department. Still, use the vape with care because they will break if abused.

Battery Performance

The most significant difference between these mods is their batteries. The Vaporesso GTX Go 80 has a 3,000 mah battery (on paper anyway), and the 40’s is half that capacity.

Both vapes take around an hour and thirty minutes to charge, which is not too bad when considering some products can take two hours to charge.

Both vapes have an LED around the firing button that indicates battery life, and the colors are the same as they are on most products:

  • Green: 100 to 70 percent
  • Blue: 70 to 30 percent
  • Red: Less than 30 percent

The GTX Pods

The GTX Go 80 comes with the GTX Pod 26, which has 5 ml juice capacity and is compatible with the full range of GTX coils and their RBA coil. The 40 has 3.5 ml capacity, and it is compatible with several coils designed for MTL vaping. However, the 40 is not compatible with the full range of GTX coils.

Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40 Tank

Four powerful magnets keep the pods connected to the battery, preventing the pods from accidentally disconnecting from the rest of the mod. Such problems can occur because people put mods in pockets and grab them by the pod. But this should not be a problem with this vape mod unless the person is wearing very tight jeans with small pockets.

Airflow

This device has excellent airflow, and it is easy to adjust. It is adjusted by rotating the tank and aligning it with the airflow holes drilled into the pen. It works excellent for DTL but not so well in MTL if used with the coil in the starter kit. Even with 50/50 liquids on the tightest setting, it is not restrictive enough to be considered even a loose MTL.

GTX Coils

The GTX Go 80 comes with a 0.3 ohm GTX mesh coil (45-60 watts), and the GTX Go 40 comes with a 0.6 ohm GTX mesh coil (20-30 watts).

The 0.2 ohm coil has a very average flavor when vaped at the recommended ranges. It is not horrible, but not great either. The 0.6 ohm coil is the better of the two because the flavor stands out more.

Compatible Nicotine Liquids

Considering that the GTX series covers almost the full range of resistances, the coils should be compatible with most liquids. Remember that low resistance coils can use liquids with high vegetable glycerin counts.

In contrast, coils with high resistances are better suited for 50/50 vegetable glycerin to propylene glycol liquids with high nicotine concentrations.

How Long Do the Vaporesso GTX 80 & 40 Coils Last?

If these coils are used correctly, and with the correct nicotine liquids, they should last a week or two at the most. Make sure to prime them before vaping them and stick with the recommended wattage settings.

How to Use These Starter Kits

These vapes and their pods are simple to operate. The top cap of the pod twists off and on, and beneath it is the refilling slot. It has one hole that is large enough to accommodate most sized bottles. Even so, syringes work best because they fit inside everything and cause less mess. The pod is connected magnetically, so pull it, and it will come off.

The coils are inserted into the bottom of the pod.

  1. First, prime them by dripping nicotine juice into the cotton wicking
  2. Then push them into hole at the bottom of the pod.
  3. Once inside, fill or refill the mod and wait five to ten minutes for the juice to seep into the coil.

It helps to have a flat head screwdriver or knife when removing the coils because it can be hard to get a fingernail between the pod and the coil.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Prime the coil and insert it into the pod
  • Twist off the top cap and fill the pod
  • Allow five to ten minutes for the coil to absorb the nicotine juice
  • Click the firing button five times to turn it on or off

Competing Products

Vaporesso GTX Go 80 & Go 40 vs. Smok Stick N18/R22

Smok Stick N18 R22 Kit

These vapes are both built to be portable and are reasonably priced.

  • However, the advantage of the GO 80/40 is that they have higher wattage output.
  • On the other hand, the N18/R22 both have five wattage settings, and each pen comes with two coils.
  • Overall, the N18/R22 are slightly better because they have adjustable wattage and two coils with each vape.

Vaporesso GTX Go 80 & Go 40 vs. Eleaf iJust 3

Eleaf iJust 3

  • The Eleaf 3 is a somewhat higher-end vape than the 80/40 devices. It has a significantly higher capacity 6.5 ml tank.
  • It comes with two ultra-low resistance 0.15 and 0.2 ohm coils that produce excellent levels of vapor. It also has a more comfortable wide bore drip tip.
  • The Vaporesso’s primary advantage is that it is priced around ten dollars cheaper.
  • Overall, though, the Eleaf iJust 3 is a slightly better vape.

Final Thoughts About the Vaporesso GTX GO 80 & 40 Pod Kits

There are many good things to point out about this pen. The biggest thing to point out is that it is portable and easy to carry around. Additionally, the pod tanks for each mod are compatible with most of the coils in the GTX line, and they are ideally suited for DTL vaping. Finally, it is a very simple and easy-to-use starter kit.

The only problems are that the coils are hard to remove and that the pod for the GTX 40 is not compatible with the full range of coils. Other than that, it is a pretty good vape and pod kit that is ideal for novice vapers.

My way of understanding the significance of vaping came not only through the disruption of smoking but its effects on society as a whole. Now I bring people to vaping and bring vaping to people. I love using new gear, writing in-depth reviews and generally nerding out about vaping to like-minded people.
