The Vandy Vape Jackaroo pod kit is a pared-down version of the Jackaroo single-21700 mod. It also features a waterproof, dustproof exterior and the Vandy Vape chipset. The pod version of the Jackaroo features a 4.5ml removable pod. It also uses removable coils so users can install various other coil types. The Jackaroo uses an internal 2000mAh battery, which is maybe the most significant difference between it and the larger 21700 version. The Jackaroo pod supports direct-lung, mouth-to-lung vaping with its unique airflow system located on the top of the pod and is fully adjustable.

A Closer Look at the Jackaroo Pod Kit
The Jackaroo vape has a similar design-build to the larger Jackaroo mod, but it has some unique features. First is the pod that sits atop the battery section and is fully removable. It has an array of magnets on the bottom connected to the battery section, but maybe a latch would have worked better to give it a more sturdy connection.
The pods are interesting in their own right, but more about them later. The rest of the mod features an ergonomic design that is comfortable to hold. The Jackaroo also features a G10 silica gel padding that gives it a soft grip while also making it waterproof and shock-resistant. It is also protected against dust.
The device has an internal battery, so there is no battery bay door, which also adds to the device’s durability and impenetrable design. The Jackaroo does have a similar control panel on its front like that of the larger model. The TFT screen is bright and jumps out at you, and it has the same number of color customizations and wallpapers that can match the exterior colors of the device.
There is also around power/firing button inlaid into the top half of the screen with a rocker-style adjustment button on the bottom of the device. The device uses a Type-C USB charger, and the port is located on the same side of the control panel. The Jackaroo Pod also features removable resin panels that came with the original Jackaroo dual-18650 box mod.
What’s in the Box
The Jackaroo Pod device comes with all the essential tools and accessories to keep it in good working order. The packing list includes the following:
- 1 x Jackaroo Pod Kit
- 2 x VVC Coils
- 1 x MTL Drip Tip
- 1 x Coil Tool
- 1 x Type-C Cable
- 1 x Instruction Manual
The Look and Feel of the Device
The Jackaroo vape mod has a very shapely figure that makes it easy to hold and handle. Looking at the device from a distance, you can tell it was built to be comfortable to hold. It has ridges along its backside that resemble a gun handle’s shape and has soft grooves along the back that conform to a person’s closed fist.
The build is primarily zinc-alloy, but other build materials give the device its waterproof, shock-proof capabilities. The device seems to be silicone-sealed, typical of devices like these that have an IP67 waterproof rating. The other build elements include silica gel, which gives the device its ultra-smooth and soft texture.
Another standout design feature of the device is its all-resin panels that give the Jackaroo a little more elegance and color than similar pod mods. The resin panels are not removable or interchangeable as they are with the Jackaroo dual-18650 mod. Still, the embedded resin panels add a touch of elegance and color to the otherwise sturdy mods.
How Long It Lasts
The internal 2000mAh battery inside the Jackaroo should be enough to power users through all the different coil options and the device’s 70W maximum power output. The battery capacity combined with the variable wattage feature means users can find their ideal power settings not to exhaust the cell prematurely. The kit includes a 0.3ohm coil and a 3.0ohm coil that gives users a wide range of experiences that it can perform.
The battery also comes equipped with fast Type-C charging to recharge faster than simple Micro USB connections. The charging rate sits somewhere between 1.5A and 2A, and a full recharge can take anywhere from one and a half to two hours, which is understandable for the battery’s larger-than-normal battery capacity.
The Jackaroo Pods
The Vandy Vape Jackaroo mod that comes included in the kit features a top-filling method, which is very convenient as you do not have to remove the pod from the battery or the mouthpiece to refill the tank. There is an attached rubber grommet that lets users fill the tank with a narrow-nozzled e-juice bottle.
The kit also includes two separate drip tips, one for direct-lung and the other for mouth-to-lung vapers. The drip tips can easily be removed and replaced again without removing the entire pod from the battery. The drip tips are also unique because they act as the only airflow control ring on the device.
Users will notice a honeycomb pattern along the edge of the mouthpiece, which is where users can adjust it to being fully open, partially open, or fully closed. Another great thing about the pods is that they are mostly transparent, so it is easy to check the e-juice levels from the outside and without having to remove the pod.
How It Vapes
The Jackaroo mod comes with two replaceable coils, but they are of the same kind, the 0.9ohm VVC coil rated for between 9-16W. The coils are fully removable, and they are installed through the bottom of the pod. There are four other coil styles available for the pod, but they are all of the mesh style. There is even an RBA coil platform to use with the pod.
The included coils work well with both traditional and freebase nicotine styles, but nicotine salts would be preferable as the coil has a limited power range. If users vape somewhere below the 16W minimum, they could get a mix of quality flavor, good vapor production, and giving the coil good longevity.
With only one coil type included in the kit, it’s hard to see what the device can do regarding vapor quality and performance. But with the coils in the kit, the Jackaroo still has a lot to offer. The airflow control lets you alter the vapor quality and production, while the choice between drip tips also gives users a little bit of customization.
The FreeMax Maxus is a tank and battery device that features an internal 2000mAh battery and can get up to as high as 50W. The Maxus has a 510-connection, so it is not a pod device, although its accompanying tank can hold up to 3.5ml of e-liquid, which is still lower than the 4.5ml of e-juice the pod for the Jackaroo can hold. The Maxus kit also comes with mesh-style coils, but they have two different ohm’s ratings, so they offer more variety than the Jackaroo pod and coils.
Vaporesso Luxe Q
The Vaporesso Luxe Q is a draw-activated pod device with an internal 1000mAh battery with direct voltage output. The device uses a 2ml pod with removable coils, which are also mesh-style coils like those in the Vandy Vape kit. Users can choose from either a 0.8ohm or a 1.2ohm coil.
The device also features a novel airflow control system that lets users choose between different vapor styles by simply turning the pod around in the pod bay.

The Vandy Vape Jackaroo mod is a step-down in power and performance from the more significant dual-18650 box mod. However, it still manages to offer satisfying vapor with a few customizable features. The pods are very well-designed, and they are easy to use. The fill ports are on the top, so they are easy to fill and do not leak.
The coils are removable, and with several other options available (but sold separately), users can get a different experience with each coil. The device can also hold up to 5ml of e-juice – which is much more than the standard capacity for pod devices – also means that users can enjoy their vaping session for much longer.
The device also comes with variable voltage settings, so users can find their ideal vape settings with the device that makes it as precise and high-performance as many box mods with external batteries. The Jackaroo is a worthy entry into the mixed pod and high-performance device with its unique features and settings.
